“Do You Know What Your Values Are?”

Most people never write out what they value in life. Most people just float through life thinking that values are something we make up as we go. And that’s also why lots of people flounder through life and never do well. And how can we honor what we value… if we don’t even know what we value?

This whole process takes being really honest with ourselves.

Step One - Take a piece of paper and write out what you value most in life. Make this list at least 7 to 10 items long. Keep it simple… keep your values connected to what you feel is important in your life.

Step Two - Now, prioritize those values as which is number one and the most important and which is number 10 and of lesser importance. Don’t get me wrong… they are all important… but some will have more importance than others.

Step Three - Now look over your life and see if you are living according to your values.

Perhaps, God, Love, and Peace are part of your values yet you don’t have any peace in your life… and never take time to express love to anyone and give thanks to God.

Maybe your family is super important to you… yet you are so busy with work that you never take time for your spouse or your kids. And when you get home you are so tired that you don’t have the energy to enjoy your family.

Perhaps, being healthy and exercising is very important to you… yet you are obese, never exercise, and eat terribly.

Step Four - If you are living life according to your values then great… there is nothing more to do other than to give thanks that all is great. You should feel good about the fact that you are living life according to what you believe in.

If you’re not living according to your values then changes need to be made.

Are you willing to make those changes?

Or, are you going to ignore your values and just keep things are they are?

This is a lot to ponder…

Many Blessings My Friend
