Snoring is one of those problems, wherein the receivers (people around) suffer more that the doer (snorer) itself. Keeping it still on a lighter note, it is often said that like corruption, snoring is a global phenomenon. Snoring is such a common issue that some people accept it as a way of life, but medical foundations all over the world have highlighted the issue of snoring as a medical condition which ideally should require attention from a professional doctor. So, what is snoring actually? Snoring is nothing but the noise from respiratory track which triggers during sleep. It is the vibration in the airway that connects mouth and the nose. There has been a lot of hue and cry over ‘stop snoring’ exercises, but the positive point is that many of these exercises have shown good results. Some common stop snoring exercises are explained below: - Chewing Gum for Some Time You can actually chew gum or pretend chewing one; the humming sound in the throat works well with this exercise. This exercise reduces the tension in the jaw muscles and even the throat. Doing it for about 10 seconds is well and good. - Giving a Big Wide Smile (Say Cheese) Pretending to smile (like during a photography session) will relax the concerned muscles. Keep that smile for about 5 seconds and repeat the exercise for about 5 to 6 times. Apart from being one of the best stop snoring exercises, smiling also makes you happy, right? You can also try to open your mouth as wide as possible, as if you are sitting front of a dentist. Make this position in a way that the dentist (pretend) can see all your 32 teeth. - Take a Sip of Liquid Going with the ‘pretend and get help’ series, next in the line is – pretend that you are taking a sip of your favorite juice. Complete the entire exercise and repeat it for 4 to 5 times. The level of snoring will improve to a great extent with this exercise. - Holding a Pencil Take a pencil and keep it in your mouth as in you are able to hold it with a normal yet firm grip. Make sure that you are careful with this exercise. You need to do this exercise for about 2 to 5 minutes a day. - Yawn Yawning is a good exercise to avoid snoring. Pretend that you are yawning and complete the exercise for a couple of times at least. This is one of the simplest exercises but has shown extremely positive results. You can perform these exercises in front of a mirror or even when in office. Apart from a few exercises like holding the pencil or forced smile, you can try these exercises even in public. Getting a sound sleep and a combination of these stop snoring exercises will definitely help you to lead a snoring free life.
