Achieving a beautiful, shining, healthy head of hair is paramount to any woman. It's equivalent to maintaining glowing radiant skin. Unfortunately, the daily abuse our hair receives from curling irons, blow dryers and other devices are quite drying and damaging to the hair.
There are several things you can do to restore the luster your hair may be lacking. The best part is, most of the items necessary may be found at your local grocery store and cost a mere fraction of the price you would pay for a complete hair care treatment at a professional salon. Also, they don't contain excessive amounts of harsh chemicals that are detrimental to the health of your hair.
1. Prevent Your Hair From Falling Out, Splitting And Breaking
Your hair is most vulnerable and weak when it is wet or damp. Instead of vigorously rubbing your hair dry with a towel, lightly squeeze the strands of hair to release as much water as possible. This will greatly reduce the chances of your hair having split ends, hair loss or even breakages.
2. Add Shine, Bounce And Volume
Does your hair need volume? Is it lifeless and dull? Try these 2-step all-natural treatment to bring it back to life:
Step #1: Mix an egg and a bit of mayonnaise together and massage it in your hair (where you start from your scalp, and moving outward all the way to the end of your hair)
Step #2: Leave the mixture on for at least 15 - 20 minutes before you rinse it off, and then shampoo and condition your hair like you always do.
For optimal results, you may want to repeat the above 2-step process once a week.
3. Apply An Avocado Mixture
Is your hair looking a little dry and lifeless?
Avocado is the secret ingredient to re-moisturize and revitalize your hair and also get rid of that frizzy look. Follow this avocado recipe to naturally revive your dry dull hair:
Step #1: You need a peeled avocado sliced in half, a few tablespoons of olive oil, wheat germ, castor oil, and an egg.
Step #2: Combine these ingredients in a bowl and blend them together well. Apply the mixture all over your hair, taking special care to completely cover your ends.
Step #3: After you've thoroughly saturated your hair, cover all your hair with a shower cap or even a plastic bag for approximately one half hour. If possible, you may want to wrap a warm towel around your covered head as that will help increase the moisture infusing treatment.
Step #4: Lastly, thoroughly rinse off all the mixture from your hair and then shampoo your hair as usual.
Repeat this treatment at least once a week until your hair is no longer dry and dull. Alternatively, if your hair is a bit on the oily side, you may only need the treatment a few times a month.
4. Put The Shine Back
To bring the shine and luster back into your hair, you may want to try out a simple whole milk soak:
Step #1: Massage your entire scalp with whole milk and work your way outwards till you reach the ends of your hair.
Step #2: Leave the milk on your hair for at least one hour, and then rinse it off. Do not shampoo or condition hair until the following morning.
Step #3: When you get up from bed the next morning, just shampoo and condition your hair like normal, and observe how rich and luxurious your hair now appears and feels!
You may repeat the entire whole milk soak process once, or maybe twice a week to maintain your hair's moisture-rich looks.
5. Do Not Go To Bed With Wet Hair To Prevent It From Falling Out
Going to bed with your hair still wet will cause it to fall out. Hence, you should always make an effort to go to bed when your hair is completely dried.
To significantly reduce the amount of hair fall, you may want to try using silk pillowcases, instead of your normal cotton pillowcase.
