Video is fast becoming the most effective traffic-generation tool online today.

1. Increased traffic.

Do a Google search for almost any keyword and you will find video results right on the front page. Adding video to your website (and adding keywords to the video) can dramatically improve your search engine rankings. People are also 41% more likely to click on a video link than read text.

2. Video keeps people on your website longer.
Studies show that people will linger on a page that has video much longer than on a page with strictly content. The "stickier" your website, the longer people stay, the better chance that they will take action.

3. Builds credibility.
In today's market, the experts are using video. If you want to be perceived as an expert, then you need to be using video too. Personal web video has the ability to establish credibility, which turns to trust faster than the speed of text.

4. Your prospects get to know YOU.
People aren't buying the "features and benefits" of your service, they are buying you. They want to know you, to trust you, to feel comfortable with you. People need to know you and like you before they feel comfortable enough to buy from you. Video is the fastest most effective way to establish this level of comfort. The more people see and hear ‘of’ you rather than read ‘about’ you, the greater opportunity for you to build a relationship.

5. Helps you to increase sales.
Using video you can give your potential customers the information they need, help them feel comfortable enough to take the next step and direct them to take the actions that you want them to take.

Videos are a must now days if you want to increase your traffic, set yourself apart and build the trust and confidence that your website visitors need to become your customers. Relationship selling is arguably the strongest method of closing and retaining business on the planet.

It didn’t take many statistics to sell me, however it took me months and months to finally produce a video; and I speak for a living. OK, truth be told, it has taken me 4 years to embrace the concept of me speaking on camera and posting it on my website. I can’t imagine how others, and perhaps you, who don’t share my love of speaking, must feel about making your own web video. I have decided to dedicate a series of articles to address the public speaking side of producing a video. Speaking to a camera is such a different animal than a live audience.
