5 Scholarships That Everyone Should Know About

There is a vast array of scholarships out there, though sadly lack of information prevents many people from applying. Young people in particular stand to benefit from many of them, especially those in high school or in some form of higher education. Here are five scholarships with money awards very much worthy of attention. 1. Underground Elephant Scholarship Underground Elephant is a personal car insurance expert committed to safe driving. Their scholarship wants to acknowledge safe drivers who make a difference in the community. Entrants must write a 500-word essay answering the question “How do you practice safe driving? Why is this important to you and your community?" To be eligible, the entrant must be a high school senior accepted into some form of tertiary education or be a student already enrolled in tertiary education. The award is $1,000 to be used towards tuition. Submission deadline is July 15th, 2019. 2. Van Nattan-Hansen Scholarship Program The Denver Astronomical Society offers the Van Nattan Hansen Scholarship which provides funding for a graduating high school student or an undergraduate college student majoring in astronomy and/or the physical sciences with an interest in space. To apply, students must send official transcripts of their grade point average which must be at least 3.0. They should also enclose a dated and a signed letter of intent and two letters of recommendation. Each year there is an approximate scholarship of $1,000, sometimes more. The deadline is June 15th, 2019. 3. Blitz Sales Software Scholarship Applicants must write an 800-1000 word essay on any of the following topics: Techniques Used by Successful Sales Reps; Tips for Hiring Great Salespeople; How to Motivate a Weak Sales Team; Describe the Top 5 Online Networking Tools by Companies and Explain How to Leverage Each Tool to Fill the Sales Pipeline; Describe Comprehensively the Steps to Building a Successful Sales Team; Explain the Role Sales Talent Plays in Achieving Sales Goals. Applicants must be high school seniors, transitioning to college or be enrolled in college or university. The scholarship offers $1,000 towards a college education. The deadline is July 1st, 2019 4. Village Bakery Aspire-To-Be Scholarship Program This scholarship is aimed at students who want to have their own business. Applicants must submit a 2000-word essay with the topic “What fuels your drive to succeed.” Applicants must be enrolled in high school, secondary or university. The prize is $1,000 and the deadline for submission is July 31st, 2019. 5. Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest This competition wants students to create a short public service advertisement video about avoiding distracted driving. There is one winner each semester who receives $500 to use as tuition. Entrants must be high school seniors accepted into tertiary education or students enrolled already in some form of tertiary education. People accepted into graduate school are also eligible to participate. The fall semester deadline is June 30th, 2019.
