There are good things and bad things about running your own business, and there are things that are going to be pretty simple to take care of, and others that are more complicated. It is not the easiest thing in the world to run a successful small business, but at the same time, if you take the time to do things right, and learn everything that you possibly can, it is not really all that difficult a job. In fact, it can be extremely rewarding when things go well, which you can ensure if you follow a few golden rules of entrepreneurship, such as: Our economy depends on entrepreneurs: Having your own business is not just something that is for you only. You are doing something to contribute to the economy. You are not just doing this because you want to do something different, or something you love but can't find a job doing. You are an important part of the capitalistic economies worldwide, and a part of its driving force. When you start your own business, you are actually contributing to the world economy. Most businesses don't start out with much: If you want to start your own business, but don't have much in the way of funds or anything else, just remember that some of the biggest businesses in the world began on a shoestring budget. Many businesses start out with practically nothing, and they grow over time. The most important thing is that you really want to start your own business and offer your product or service to the world. You may not succeed at first, but keep on trying: Sadly, most new businesses do fail within the first year of operation. According to the Small Business Association, there are actually only 10% of new businesses in the US that actually succeed, but those business owners that don't succeed learn some pretty valuable lessons for their next time at bat, and they take what they have learned to try again. So, if you start a business that does not succeed, don't let this keep you from trying again, because you have learned much, and will never make the same mistakes again. Building wealth takes time, so have patience: If you have started your own business with the goal of achieving wealth, don't expect it to happen ove ight. This is something that is going to take a number of years to achieve, if you ever actually reach your goal of wealth at all. The thing is to never give up, because if you want something badly enough, you will eventually succeed in getting it, including wealth. It is probably going to take at least 10 or 20 years to achieve your financial goals, so be patient. Entrepreneur involves a lifetime of hard work: If you want to be able to sit back when you retire and know that you have really been successful as an entrepreneur, you have to have worked hard all of your life. You never get anywhere without a lot of hard work and this holds true with small business ownership. You need to take some time to stop and smell the roses, then you have to get right back to work, ensuring that your business is going to be a successful one.
