The big day has arrived. Perhaps the biggest day in your life: your wedding day. Everything's ready to go, everything is prepared, and you've just finished a quiet dinner with family the night before. You're nervous, that's to be expected. And thoughts of every last detail are running through your head. The best thing to do is to push these thoughts as far out of your head as possible. The most important thing right now is to set yourself the task of being mentally and emotionally prepared. Beyond your checklist of hair appointments, pictures, etc. you need to make sure you're ready. Here is a list of 5 key things to do on the night before your wedding to make sure you're in the optimal mood before the big day. 1. Get Some Sleep! This isn't just a suggestion, it's an order! Not only will getting sufficient sleep help keep you mentally aware and firing on all cylinders, but you will look your absolute best. You want to sleep at least 7-8 hours to look and feel rested and fresh for the big day. You will be taking tons of pictures and be the center of attention all day, and I don't think I need to tell you that you want to look fantastic for all of them. Ideally, if you can manage to get great sleep for two nights in a row, this is the best way to go. So leave the dinner party early, head back to your house/hotel room, relax in bed or have a bath, and just let your mind and worries go for the night. You'll be glad you did in the morning! 2. Set Two Alarms Getting up on time for your first day of school was important, but this morning is probably the most important you need to make sure you're up in time for. Set one alarm that is close by your bed, and set a second one a little further away so you have no choice but to get up to turn it off. Odds are, you'll be so excited that you will probably leap out of bed as soon as you hear the alarm bells. But just to be on the safe side, set two. 3. Don't Do Anything Unusual Your routine the night before your wedding shouldn't deviate too much from your normal routine. This will allow for less stress and less things to think about. There's nothing particularly special you need to do except to make sure you're as stress and worry-free as you can be. Sometimes doing more will lead to more anxiety. If you're feeling any kind of pre-wedding jitters, just relax and stick to your routine. Don't go crazy and take loads of sleeping pills, or drink of bottle of wine to relax. Just do as you normally would as if tomorrow is just another day. 4. Consider A Relaxer The Day Before This may not be during the night before per se, but it will be during the day before. A relaxer could be anything from a nice warm bath, to a great workout to pump you full of endorphins, or even a day-long spa session. Many women will opt for spa sessions the day before to combine the relaxation with last minute beauty preparations. If this is out of your budget, then put aside some time just for you. Watch your favorite movie in your comfy clothes, listen to your favorite music while going for a walk. The relaxer is meant to be whatever you want to help let the anxiety just fall away. 5. Eat A Nice Breakfast While you may have been extremely health and diet conscience the weeks leading up to your wedding, make sure you eat a nice breakfast to start the big day. This is the meal that will give you energy for the rest of your day. You don't want to be crashing during the wedding speeches or falling asleep at the alter! Don't fill up too much, you want to be comfortable in your dress. Just eat enough so that you're ready for the big day ahead. And try to avoid foods that can give you gas or upset your stomach. Also, drink plenty of water throughout the day, don't keep drinking coffee or sodas as they will make you feel worse. rnStick to these tips and your wedding day will be the best day ever!
