All your emotions—laughter, sorrow, cheerfulness and worry—are expressed on your face. As you age, these emotions are etched in lines on your skin and are known as age marks or wrinkles. They are a record of the life you’ve led and, according to skin specialists, the more wrinkled your skin is, the more emotions you’ve expressed. However, not everyone relies upon these age marks; they find other ways of observing or commemorating a significant date in history or in their personal lives. One such method is to have a tattoo done on a part of the body. Today, tattoos have earned their place in every culture. rnThese days, tattoos are regarded as part of everyday fashion and are therefore growing in popularity among youngsters. Due to this ever-growing popularity of tattoos, expert tattoo designers feel the need to warn youngsters of the harm that tattoos can cause. These are the five chief areas in which youngsters should exercise caution, warn tattoo designers: 1. Be sure of the meaning and significance of the tattoo design. People often see several universal tattoo designs at tattoo shops, and, if they’re new to tattoos, they let the designer decide for them. Often, tattoo designers decide for you without feeling the need to tell you the meaning of the design. Such people find out the meaning from their friends or acquaintances anyway, particularly if they choose Celtic, tribal, ancient or Chinese tattoo designs. If you have a tattoo done of a design that you don’t quite agree with, it could be very frustrating for you. Since tattoos are a form of self-expression, be very sure that the tattoo you like reflects your personality. 2. Are you allergic to tattoo ink? Your designer will know exactly which inks can cause allergies, so before giving the tattoo artist the go-ahead, find out if the ink he uses can give you an allergy. Read the label of the tattoo kit and look out for warning signs such as sudden itching or inflammation. If you experience either of these, speak to your health care provider or tattoo artist. 3. Steer clear of dubious tattoo shops. According to the government and expert tattoo designers, one should avoid going to dubious tattoo shops that sell you low-priced designs. You might stand to save a lot of money, but you also put yourself at great risk of contracting diseases. Before getting yourself tattooed, be absolutely sure that it has all the statutory permits to run a tattoo shop. 4. What aftercare methods do they employ? Immediately after you’re inked, your aftercare begins. Some inks require you to stay away from water, while with others you must use chilled water. Tattoo designers also ask that you maintain tattoos regularly. You must ask your tattooist for aftercare so that your design stays clean and fresh for the longest time possible. 5. Do you really want to be tattooed? Before you step in to a tattoo shop, ensure that you really want a tattoo—after all, it’s going to be with you for a lifetime. Besides, removing a tattoo is a terrible and painful experience, something that could bring you physical and financial pain.
