The way you start your day has an enormous impact on how it will develop. This is why breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day. It is the fuel with which you set out to make your day exceptional. Breakfast is also important because you're giving your body the nourishment it requires after the long hours of fasting during the night. You haven't eaten or drank for 8 hours or more. Your body is hungry for nutrients and it's vital that you provide the right ones for it to function at its best. But how do go about creating a powerful breakfast? Here are 5 tips to follow: Hydrate Yourself – After night in which you haven't drank a drop, your body needs to be hydrated. So, start each breakfast with two tall glasses of water. Don't wait until after you've eaten because you may be full and less inclined to drink. You need water even if you don't feel thirsty. In addition, drinking first thing in the morning will help you meet your required quota of 8 glasses of water, at least, each day. rnVegetables – I love the mediterranean diet for a number of reasons. One of them is that it includes a lot of vegetables in all meals of the day. There's simply no reason not to eat vegetables for breakfast. Why not start your day with a good dose of vitamins and fiber? I love to eat carrots and tomatoes for breakfast but you can pick your own veggies. Keep It Low On sugar – There's one thing that you should not include in your breakfast and that is sugar, especially refined white sugar. A lot of people eat sugar rich morning cereals or drink coffee or tea with too much sugar in their cup. You're simply filling up on useless calories that do little for your health and you're also setting yourself up for more hunger due to the blood sugar spike you will experience. Get a full portion of Protein – I believe that a good breakfast must include a portion of quality protein. This has a number of benefits: protein helps you to feel full so you'll be less inclined to eat unhealthy snacks before lunch. In addition, protein is essential for the formation of muscle tissue which is largely responsible for your metabolism, so anyone who wants to lose weight will likely benefit from more protein during their breakfast. Protein sources which I recommend for breakfast include eggs, fish, and nuts and almonds that you can eat with oatmeal. Here's a great protein rick breakfast recipe: Metabolic Alaskan Omelete. Great tasting and high on protein. Eat calmly – Don't rush your breakfast or eat it standing or while watching TV. Take this time to really enjoy your food and to calmly reflect on the coming day. This is also a time to relish being home before you need to set out for work. Enjoy it. Follow these 5 tips and your breakfast will be much more effective and enjoyable. Try it and you will find how your whole day improves as a result.
