What would be nice if your bills were paid fast and you would have as little work as possible? However, that is the ideal world. Today, defaulters, dubious debtors, and late payers are more likely than you think. If your company supplies products or services, but the accounts are not paid regularly (on time), you can easily take action yourself. Here I will give you 5 tips & tricks. You can, of course, also download our checklist faster. # 1 Be professional and business This is already in the tender phase: Make your offer as quick, clear and clear as possible. At this stage (for example, in a call, quote or terms and conditions), make clear what payment term you are using. Please answer any questions about your quote quickly and professionally and always send a confirmation email. Take complaints seriously and ensure quick and correct handling. Also send your invoices as soon as possible. From practice, it appears that the later you send your invoices, the longer the customers want to pay. From the late shipment, customers claim that you are not waiting for a fast payment.rnIn short: show that you are a serious, professional and business party. Your customers will appreciate this and therefore tend to pay your bill earlier. # 2 Be alert and take your terms seriously Be alert: make sure you know which customers have not yet paid with one click. Modern administration systems can now automatically warn you if a payment period has been exceeded. Also make sure you have your own payment terms seriously: so do not wait too long to remember and exhorting. Consider sending a call to your customer before sending the first payment reminder. This often works effectively. Additionally, it gives you the opportunity to ask your customer if everything was to your liking and whether you could (more) do for your customer. # 3 Get stuck, but not angry You are the one who has met the agreed obligation, your customer is not. You are entitled to receive the invoice amount. Always keep that in mind. Obviously, it is important to show empathy and to take seriously your customers, their complaints, and financial difficulties. But it is also important to stay persistent, business and solid. The longer the payment will be, the stricter and tighter you can become. In addition, keep track of your customer's earlier announcements, make specific arrangements regarding payment dates and re-contact in writing or by telephone if payment still remains. Do you still have to work for your customers, or deliver goods? Please take this into account until the outstanding invoice has been paid. However, always make sure you never lose your patience and get angry. As mentioned in tip 1: With a business attitude, you increase the chances for actual payment. # 4 Enable a bailiff If you really fail to get an invoice, or you have a conflict with your debtor for which you can not find a solution, you can always contact a bailiff. A bailiff has a lot of experience with debt collection and mediation in conflicts and often finds the right tone. As a result, your outstanding invoices will be met faster, while maintaining your customer relationship. # 5 Use a Free Online Invoicing and Project Management Software Do you need well-thought-out sample letters for payment reminders and invoices?
