HAPPINESS……WHAT IS THAT?rnWhat is happiness? Happiness does not come from material things or from others, it is a state of mind, our attitude towards everyday life, it is the journey and not the destination.rnNo question money carries a significant role in someone happiness, however, I would define it as one of the tools for a peace of mind, it frees us from basic worries such as food, house, clothing and so on. Social status also influences dramatically on happiness, nevertheless, we are the creator of our mental well- being and in charge of our thoughts and actions. Following some tips for inner peace: MINDFULL MEDITATION rnMindfulness is the awareness of the Now, it is to purposely concentrate on the present and on the internal and external experiences happening at that precise moment, in order to finally let the past go. The Meditation itself consists of breathing deeply and focusing on the flow of the air that enters and exits our bodies, accept our thoughts without judging them but always gently switch back the attention to the breathing. Practicing Mindfulness Meditation on a daily basis decreases, stress, anxiety, depression and helps to retrieve inner peace and balance in life. rnSPEND LESS ON MATERIAL STUFF AND MORE ON TRAVELLING rnIt is quite counterproductive surrounding yourself with unnecessary stuff, the more you buy the more you want. The instant joy you experience when purchasing something new is so fleeting that you need to buy another thing in order to feel that emotion again, with the result of permanent dissatisfaction and a total waste of money. On the contrary, Travelling is an investment as you enrich your knowledge and fill your soul while you discover the world. Getting to know different cultures build up a considerable tolerance towards different customs and traditions easing the interaction against others.rnBE AN EARLY BIRDrnThe optimal direction for our body and mind to recharge and function properly would be to go to bed when the sun sets and wake up when it raises. Due to the over productive society we live in, such concept would be impractical for the most part, however we should get into the habit of going to sleep earlier at night, in order to get out of bed when the first ray of light enters our bedrooms and start up the day with a good cardio work out. Whichever type of sports or activities you may choose, boosting up some endorphins sets you up for a successful and productive day. PASSION Only the sound of this magical word is a pleasure for the hearing, now imagine what our passions can do to our body and mind. We should commit to set time apart for whatever we are fond of and love much of, it changes our perception of that unpleasant and stressful job we may have to go to every day. Staying happy will give you many health benefits mentally leading to a better life. It benefits us with focusing less on frequent and exhausting challenges and more on what makes us feel good and enhances our souls. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE Hearing chronic complainers and negative comments all the time can be dramatically damaging for our frame of mind, moms were absolutely right when warning us about the bad influence of hanging out with the wrong crowd. Surround yourself with people that see the glass half full and make sure to spend some quality time with your best friends, nothing can be more therapeutic than a nice chat and a great laugh with your best friend.
