There are some simple steps that you can take to perk up your skin and even out your complexion. 1.Be gentle on your skin. If you get a blemish don't pick at it! When you pick at blemishes on your face you can cause scarring and discoloration. Apply the appropriate skin care products and then leave it alone. As tempting as it is, don't touch it. The more you touch it, the more red and irritated it will become. At this point it can discolor or scar your skin. 2.Exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week. Dead skin cells can build up on the surface of your skin causing roughness and discoloration. Regular exfoliation will promote smooth skin and will help improve the tone of your complexion. It also encourages faster cell renewal which helps your skin to look more even and radiant. 3.Red light therapy systems, such as the DPL Light, promote healthy skin and a more even complexion. The LED lights penetrate deep within the layers of your skin where they repair, heal, renew, and rejuvenate your skin cells. With continued use scars will fade, pores will appear smaller, wrinkles will diminish, and your skin will be more even. 4.Steer clear of cigarette smoke. Exposure to smoke can cause your skin to become sallow, uneven, and discolored. Whether you smoke or are exposed to secondhand smoke your skin is exposed to the toxic chemicals that cause hyperpigmentation. Avoid smoking and being around smoke to protect your skin from the harmful toxins. 5.Wear a sunscreen daily. Sun exposure, no matter how much, wreaks havoc on your skin causing discoloration, age spots, and wrinkles. It’s nearly impossible to completely avoid the sun; you can get sun damage by simply walking to your car. Protect your skin daily by wearing a sunscreen even on those deceptively cloudy days. By implementing some or all of these tips into your routine you can get healthier skin that glows and has a more even tone. Making healthy choices plays an important role in how your skin looks and taking a few extra precautions will help it to look its best.
