The fall season is all about cool mornings and crisp evenings. Since the weather is totally different from that of the summer, it is important to get the skin ready for the potential stress factors like low humidity and cold temperatures. In fact, fall is a great time to repair the damage caused to the skin in summer. Your skin may appear drier and would flake more easily. Also, the skin care products that you use in the summer months would cease to be effective.

Though you don't have to revamp your skin care routine completely, it is advisable to alter some of your skin care products. This is so your skin remains in a good state through the cold months of the fall. Here are some tips that will help your skin.

Exfoliate Regularly

Excessive sun exposure can make the skin dry and flaky, even though you may have religiously used your sunscreen. Therefore, you need to exfoliate your skin regularly in order to scrape off the dead skin cells that might have accumulated on the skin surface. There are several exfoliating products and scrubs available in the market that you can use. Try Nia 24 Physical Cleansing Scrub. It removes dead skin cells and at the same time calms, hydrates and soothes the skin. It contains pro-niasomes that wash away visible imperfections caused by the sun and aging. You can also consider using Obagi Nu-Derm Exfoderm Forte (for normal/oily skin) or Obagi Nu-Derm Exfoderm (for normal/dry skin). However, make sure not to over-exfoliate your skin lest you end up damaging healthy skin cells.

Moisturize Efficiently

Moisturization is yet another indispensable activity for the winter months. In fact, the cold months call for a more intensive moisturizing element than what you use regularly. Moisturizers deliver hydrating ingredients that help to strengthen the skin's barrier function. Also, with the dipping temperature and humidity levels, the skin requires more heavily textured skin care products like rich creams and lotions. Try Kinerase C8 Peptide Intense Treatment. It contains Vitamin C and Kinetin that provides intensive moisturization and help to make produce healthy younger looking skin. NIA 24 Intensive Recovery Complex is yet another great product. It is a rich cream that moisturizes the skin intensely and helps activate its regenerative powers. The skin becomes firmer and toned because of the active ingredients like ceramides, liposomes and peptides within it.

Don’t Forget the Sunscreen

No matter what the weather is like, a sunscreen is an absolute must in your skin care regimen. Make sure you use a broad spectrum sunscreen that protects your skin against both UVA and UVB rays of the sun. just because the sun is not as bright as it is in the summer months, don't skip using the sunscreen. This is because UV rays continue to affect your skin and cause long term damage which results in the development of wrinkles, fine lines, age spots and loss of skin resilience. You can choose from a variety of sunscreen formulations available in the market. Some of the popular ones are Obagi Physical UV Block, Obagi C-Sunguard SPF 30 SPF 32 and iS Clinical SPF 25 Treatment Sunscreen.
Take Care of your Hands and Feet

You cannot avoid contact with water no matter how much you try to wear gloves and all. Regular hand washes and other contact often cause the hands and feet to dry and crack. Therefore, always keep a moisturizing cream or lotion handy so that you can apply it whenever the skin dries.

Care for your Hair

Your hair is exposed to sunlight and water through the day and therefore can appear dry and lusterless during the fall season. Therefore, avoid too much blow-drying by flat iron along with any such treatments that could damage the hair. Use a gentle shampoo and moisturizing conditioner to care for your hair.
