rnThe sales copy you produce when marketing on the internet has a significant influence over the ultimate success of your online efforts. People are actually more influenced by copy writing then they are by the product itself when making buying decisions. However good copy writing skills CAN be acquired and are absolutely necessary if you want to improve your marketing effectiveness online. Let's have a quick look at 5 ways in which you can learn how to write persuasive copy to help you increase your sales when marketing on the internet. Place Your Focus on the Reader Remember you are speaking to the reader and their only focus is 'what is in it for them.' Avoid focusing any part of your copy writing on your own accomplishments since the reader is not interested. Their only concern is how they will benefit or how what you are offering will make their lives more enjoyable or easier. This should be the ONLY focus of your writing and will get you the greatest results. Hard Hitting Headlines Always try to use headlines that will capture the attention of the reader. Be descriptive and do not be afraid to use shock or humor since this normally serves to further engage readers thereby encouraging them to read further on into the content of your copy. Use Bullet Points Using bullet points makes it easier for any reader to follow and it also makes it easier to go back and reference the copy later on. Another benefit of using this type format is that it does not 'congest' the page with a lot of words which results in less eye strain. Leave Your Vocabulary at the Door Having a large vocabulary is something to be proud of and both your mom and English teacher would approve. On the other hand your reader is less likely to be impressed and more likely to NOT understand what it is you are trying to say to them. Learn to write in a clear, concise and simple to read manner that EVERYONE will be able to understand. Bold and Descriptive Sub-Headlines Much like regular headlines your 'sub-heads' should capture attention and also be descriptive. Let the reader know what the section is all about and why they should read it. Similar to using bullet points having sub-head lines in your copy tends to 'break up' the body of your content. This makes your copy seems less 'imposing' to any reader upon first glance. Learning to write good sales copy is possible and necessary in order to increase your marketing effectiveness online. People base their buying decisions more upon the copy writing they are exposed to as opposed to the product itself. By focusing on the 5 areas we spoke of above you can easily learn how to write persuasive copy that will help boost your online sales and marketing efforts.
