The internet has made the world we live in today a whole lot easier to deal with than it ever was. It allows for different activities such as emailing, online music, watching a movie on Netflix, blogging, online shopping, instant messaging, face timing and many other things. Platforms such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, Skype, Facebook messenger, Snapchat, call conferencing apps and many more provide connections. All these have been great on 4G networks and with the introduction of a 5G network; it’s set to reach a whole new world of possibilities. Applications such as Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, AOL and a few others pioneered communication applications but have now given way for others including WhatsApp, Snapchat and several others. Similarly, the internet was introduced in a 2G-technology network that later evolved to 3G and then 4G and currently 5G. With this fifth generation network, that is super fast, you will have faster upload and download speeds. RURAL AMERICA & INTERNET ACCESS Lack of speed and low data is a common complaint in the rural areas of America as compared to major cities. Sadly, several places within the country still rely on their smartphones or satellite internet to access the internet. The reason these places are left without a good internet connection is that it is expensive, without many benefits and there isn’t any solution in sight. What little there is of the internet in rural areas has many limitations including slow connection and data caps. This simply means that someone living in these areas will have to pay to access the internet once he has reached his data limit on an already poor network. One way this could be remedied is for you to transform your smartphone into a hotspot so your internet-enabled devices can have access to the internet. This, however costly, is a better option than paying exorbitantly for an internet service you have little or no access to. 5G internet can change all of this if ISPs will install the technologies in these areas. That’s unlikely to happen soon as it will be costly for them to install since they would have to install more masts because 5G travels over very short distances. Lower frequency bands (600-800 MHZ) are better over long distances, so network operators will focus on 4G LTE coverage with 5G rollout. Connectivity in certain areas will remain patchy without government subsidy making it worthwhile for network operators to go into these places. 5G INTERNET & THE UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES The world is becoming mobile and we consume more data yearly, even as the popularity of video and music streaming increases. Existing broadbands are becoming congested, leading to breakdowns in services, particularly when lots of people try to access internet services at the same time. That’s not what we want. We all want that fast internet speed which, at the moment, is only available through either a cable internet connection, which Charter Spectrum offers or a fiber connection. 5G technology is expected to have faster mobile upload and download speeds with lower latencies than the previous generations could achieve. This will help reach the full potential and capacity of the Internet of Things (IoT). 5G will revolutionize our way of life, from education to agriculture, to security and entertainment. 5G provides faster and better internet services and higher quality videos with less delay or latency. 4G mobile network, which is currently the fastest, offers about 45 Mbps on average, 5G could achieve browsing and download speed 10-20 times faster allowing for almost instantaneous and glitch-free mobile videos with video calls being clearer and less jerky. It will better handle thousands, or maybe even millions, of devices simultaneously. These could range from video cameras to smart streetlights, mobiles to equipment sensors. The service charges for 5G will likely be different from its predecessor, so be ready to fork out cash for your connection. BRIDGING THE INTERNET DIVIDE Seeing the amazing benefits 5G holds for everyone, Charter Spectrum plans to offer 5G internet services to in addition to what they currently offer. Charter Spectrum currently offers 4G internet service and has built up its customer base by offering incentives to existing and prospective customers. One of the best things about 5G internet is the availability of services in an area without a wired connection. The rural areas of America will finally get the chance to access high-speed internet with single bills and the option of keeping their smartphones as a prepaid connection for calls only. Of course, this can only happen if the internet service providers decide to take it on in spite of the cost involved, or if they get help from the governmentrn
