When it comes to taking care of themselves, mothers seem to lack in that department. After all, they have a lot on their plate: take the kids to school; cook dinner; go to PTA meetings and still be a loving and caring wife. It's no wonder we dedicate a special day just for them. Mother's day is a time where you can show your appreciation for your l loving mom. Flowers, candy and dinner all nice. But the best gift you can give your mom this mother's day is the gift of health. Whether you are a mom, or a loving child, here are some tips to make this a healthy & memorable mother's day.

1. Eat Fiber rich Foods

Moms need a lot of energy to go about their every day routine. It's essential that they get proper nutrition, a diet high in fiber, fruits and veggies to help eliminate toxins and help keep you full of energy throughout the day.

2. Fun Exercise

Forget about the gym & lifting heavy weights. When it comes to exercise, you have to find something that is fun and pleasurable. Take dance lessons at a local studio, go for a hike, and join a cycling club. The key is to exercise because you want to not because you have to.

3. Stop Self-Sabotage

At times, we can all get distracted and bogged down from every day demands. Whenever you feel like you had enough, remember that you are a great person. Take 5 minutes to write all the things you are grateful for. After you take a personal inventory, you will realize that so many people in your life appreciate you.

4. Manage Stress.

Stress can creep up on you like a thief in the night. So it's crucial that you manage your stress. You can do this by practicing daily meditations, pampering yourself at a spa. Or simply watching a funny movie for a good laugh.

5. Take in The Sun

Even though there has been debate that the sun is bad for you, it won't hurt to slap on some sunscreen. Take a few minutes to bask in the sun to get some Vitamin D. Vitamin D helps regulate your metabolism and build calcium.
