Many of us make the resolution to lose weight at the beginning of each year. But we often find ourselves struggling to stick to our weight loss program just few days later. This usually happens when you lose your motivation to lose weight. Things just happen and we forget to put ourselves first. However, if you want to be successful at weight loss you need to keep yourself motivated. 1. To get started, take picture of yourself before and after. Look at your picture when you were overweight each time you feel like eating something fattening. Then ask yourself, do you really want to go back to this time in your life when you were overweight. rn2. What will keep you really focused on track is writing down the number of kg you have lost over time, your daily food intake and exercise regimen. You will be motivated to lose more weight until you reach your goal as you see your weight get lower and lower. rn3. Break down your overall weight loss goal into small, achievable goals. Celebrate your success after you have achieved these milestones. Pamper yourself, go to a spa, have your nail or hair done or buy a cute outfit for every 10 kg you lose. However, when you reward yourself make sure it is not food related. 4. Do not forget the reason why you are losing weight. If your reason for losing weight is to be healthy, think about how you can minimize your blood pressure medications or about how much energy you will have afterwards. Imagine how good you will look when you wear that particular dress you have been wanting to fit into for so long if your reason for losing weight is to fit into certain size. 5. You can hire a personal trainer if your budget allows it. In addition to guiding your workout session, a personal trainer will be able to keep you motivated 6. Find a fun exercise activity that you can stick to, exercise should not be a chore or painful. You can try spinning, dancing or just simply hiking outdoors. While working out listen to fast-paced music that will keep you moving. Find an exercise partner. Research has shown that you are more likely to stick to an exercise program if you workout with a partner. rnWhat most people lack is the motivation to be successful, the information we need to lose weight is at our fingertips.
