Just started golf and working hard to improve your score? Don’t worry most of the amateurs face this phase and make the most of it. Most people struggle in sports as they feel style is more important than technique. Good golf is all about working on strategy rather than mechanics. People with good strategy succeed more in sports rather than improvising on mechanics. For example Tiger Woods one of the greatest golf players of all time played with the Focus strategy. According to Mr. Woods focus strategy is forming an image in mind of yours successfully aligning and swinging the golf ball in the hole. Keep on forming the image until it becomes crystal clear. In spite of being an amateur in golf here are six ways you can master golf: #1 Coordinate the club face Improper alignment is a common mistake made by a majority of young golf players. Some believe that aligning their feet to the target can give them a score, while some think that keeping shoulders parallel to the target can get things done. Well, both of the above techniques are wrong. The proper algorithm can be: 1. Evaluate the target behind the ball, this helps you in tracking the whole field area. 2. Set the clubface just behind the ball such that it is properly aligned to the target. 3. Keep your body directed towards left of the target line. 4. Go for your shot but remember- align the clubface first. #2 Play with the Right ClubrnMany new learners prefer choosing clubs in accordance with field sizes. They choose long clubs for longer holes and short clubs for shorter holes. The choice of clubs depends on various things like nature hazards, the direction of the wind and much more. To make swinging more probable, divide your clubs in three modes namely 1. Play it safe: Clubs with fairway woods and long irons. They are used to control speed and direction in typical situations, used by most golfers 2. Proceed with care: These clubs are mostly iron ones and are usually used by experts. 3. Go for it: These clubs are mostly short ones and are used to take aggressive shots when you run out of scores. So making a great choice among the clubs can help you to earn some extra points. #3 Make a good griprnBetter players always have a good grip on the club. First try to make a grip with your glove, then without a glove. This makes a habit of handling the club and making your swing more accurate. Try to form a V shape between your index fingers and palm, this leads to a stronger grip. Once you start practicing a grip pattern, it will become your signature grip and you will perform better in future. #4 Positive AttitudernAre you nervous on every shot? Well, that will end up only in disturbing your performance. Optimism is the basic ethic practiced by a good sportsman. Just try to remember any situation in which you were successful? You were optimistic about it. Yes, success is just a staple of optimism and right action aligned together in a positive direction. Imagine a successful preshot before your attempt. Try to feel and ideate the feeling after a successful shot. This is a most general technique used by global golf players. After consistent practice, you will find that your shots are improving day by day. So don’t wait to imagine, believe and achieve. #5 Use wind in your favor Many amateurs are of the thought that a strong wind might disturb the way one swings. No matter what kind of shot you look; strong, fade or weak the wind will definitely try to oppose the shot. To make that count think over how you can use the wind as an advantage. Adjust your shots such that the wind works in your favor. For example, if you’re going for a straight shot then aim a little left of the target. At last, never go for harder shot no matter whatever the direction the wind is blowing in. This activity may affect your score card. #6 Keep a track of your performance, tempo, and rhythmrnKeeping a track of your performance in last games can help in improving your game to a great extent. Analyze your game and mention your strengths and weaknesses in a diary. Keep on updating your scores, the number of strong, simple and fade shots. Balancing between tempo (time taken to golf a swing before beginning to end) and rhythm (means total time taken by you between the forward and back swing) can be a boon to your overall performance as an amateur.rnSo practice regularly and keep on evaluating playing style. All the best, head forward!!!
