October may be known for Halloween but to some, it can be a painful reminder of a loved one they lost to breast cancer or a fond memory of a loved one beating breast cancer. Whichever way you see it, we can all agree that October is a month where we can celebrate the brave women affected by breast cancer and raise awareness. If you are still trying to figure out how to contribute to breast cancer awareness month, try one of these ideas! Organize a fundraiser in honor of a loved one. Whether they have passed on or still fighting, this is a great way to honor the person who has had firsthand experience with breast cancer. Have an “I beat Cancer Party!” rnWhat better way is there to celebrate the end of breast cancer? Throwing a party for your loved one is a great way to lift their spirits! Participate in a Breast Cancer Walk. This is a great way for you to be around others who can relate to you as either someone who has gone through breast cancer or someone who has had a family member go through it. This kind of event lets you know that you are not alone and don’t ever have to feel that you are. Have a tattoo party! There is nothing more permanent than a little ink. Get matching tattoos or a tattoo in memory of someone you know. This is a meaningful way to say “you’ll always be with me no matter what.” It’s creative and you can do this with your family or friends! Surprise them! Chances are your loved one has always wanted to do something. Surprise them by setting up the things they have always wanted to do. It’ll put a smile on their face and take their mind off of the fight even for just a day! Take a Trip! This is a fun way to spend vacation time. You can make a big deal of it by spending this time crossing “must-see” places off of your bucket list with your loved one. Combine lists with your loved one and go! These are just a few ways you can celebrate those affected by breast cancer. There are a bunch of different ways you can do your part in helping breast cancer research as well. You can donate, sign up to work at events and even host your own breast cancer awareness event!
