Our own perception is your own reality…isn’t it? We live with and in our own reality everyday. Therefore, our big problems are big problems and our small problems are small problems….to us. And, whatever our problems are they are, they are OUR problems and not someone else’s. Back in October 2010, I saw Tony Robbins in Sydney and he said it best when he rnsaid, “Your Winter Is Someone Else’s Summer.” It’s true isn’t it? If you are reading this right now and you are having problems in your life, I bet a $1000 that your problems are very small in comparison to someone else’s problems in the world. Right now, you’re probably thinking: “Tell me something I don’t know Trav.” Well, the problem is in the fact that it’s hard with our busy lives to suddenly ‘snap-out’ of our problem and get a quick reality check. Let’s look at a common one from when we were growing up. I bet you’ve heard your mum say this: “Hey, eat it all up, there’s people starving in the world.” Thanks for that mum! But, do you really compare yourself at that point with people starving…hardly ever. rnSo, here’s the 6 ways to SHOCK you into reality and to put your problems into perspective really fast… 1.Visit a nursing home 2.Go to a funeral 3.Volunteer at a special school 4.Visit a children cancer ward 5.Help out at a soup kitchen So, what’s the point of doing any of these? To get a real appreciation for life To make your problems seem small To help you realize there are worse-off people than you To pay gratitude rnThese are some ‘slap-across-the-face’ experiences that you can do right now if you are experiencing some lows in your life. rnLet me know how you go.
