A passive candidate is described as a qualified candidate who isn’t looking for a job but also could be interested if the right one comes along. As a recruiter, it can be a challenge to find people under this group. But with the right tools and intelligent strategy, hunting for that perfect asset is not impossible. As the hiring process in the modern world becomes easier through faster communication tools such as emails and social media, the recruitment industry has also grown to be more competitive. To that effect, headhunters must adapt to the fast and growing system of recruitment in order to acquire the best employees for their company. If your company is currently seeking to hire passive candidates, here are some tips that can guide you in targeting the right individuals: 1. Be active in Social Media channelsr The long list of benefits social media channels provide us these days are endless. Not only that it is used by anyone, it also comes with no fee. When you’re looking to hire passive candidates, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and other highly-used platforms should be taken advantage for the sole reason that they are widely popular. As a recruiter, posting and sharing your job listings regularly could gain attention if the information found are direct with specific details. 2. Launch the referral methodr The referral method is one of the most-used ways to find passive candidates. Recruiters who are on the look-out for skilled employees often seek help from their current employees. In return, the company will give the respective employee an incentive if the person he/she referred gets hired. In some cases, referrals also come in as soon as new hires come in. The newly-hired gets the same incentive if he/she was able to refer a passive candidate. 3. Track down freelancers and part-timersr Since the world we live in today is digitally-centered, passive candidates who are experts on technology and/or digital media have become one of the most sought out targets. Unfortunately, individuals who are experienced in this kind of field are now more comfortable in being freelancers or being part-timers – as the rates are higher as well as the huge advantage of flexible hours. To track them down, recruiters should visit websites which cater to freelancers looking to get paid by offering their specific skills. By looking at their profiles, the process of recruiting can be a lot easier. Plus, they can easily be contacted as well. 4. Engage in industry eventsr Conventions, seminars, and other industry-related events should be the go-to source of recruiters eyeing to hire passive candidates. These kinds of events usually goes on for days and it can be a great opportunity to spread the word about your current job offer. You may also print out flyers detailing the specifics of your listing to distribute among the participants. 5. Expand your networkr As mentioned, social media channels plays a major role in recruitment. But aside from their sharing features, you can also use them to expand your network. Through Facebook, you can take advantage of its wide-array of search tabs. When you type a company related to your field, the results can give you more prospects and more connections that you can instantly connect with. Facebook also allows you to join a slew of groups under one organization. Take the time to join these forums and you might just find the one passive candidate you’re looking for. Same with Twitter, just go for the search button and start following people inclined in your industry. Once that person is notified, he/she now has the information about you and your company. 6. Set-up a blogr Launching your own blog as a recruiter may seem time-consuming and intimidating. While this is a normal reaction, realizing the bigger picture of what a blog can do for your company makes blogging worth it. Publishing your company’s current news and awards can greatly affect how passive employees perceive your stand in the industry. The more informed they are about your works and achievements, it will give them more confidence to apply and be part of your expanding organization. Thank you for reading this article.
