Gardening can be a fun activity because you can buy various seeds and plant them so you can have a garden full of different and beautiful plants. But that fun can turn into frustration once you find out that some of your plants aren't growing properly. Then after a short period of time, your plants start to mysteriously die out. This will surely leave you wondering as to why your plants are dying. Here are seven of the most common causes of dying plants.
1. Watering Problems
Different plants have different watering requirements, so you have to do some research online so you can learn how often you need to water your plants. Plants need water to survive, but adding too much water can cause certain plants to die as well. It is important for the roots to have a sufficient supply of oxygen and overwatering can negate that.
2. Sunlight Problems
If you notice that a group of plants are dying and they are all placed close together, you should keep an eye on them because they might not be getting enough sunlight. Photosynthesis won't occur without the sun's energy, but that doesn't mean that too much sun isn't harmful. Plants can get sun burned too and too much exposure to ultraviolet rays can do more harm than good.
3. Temperature Problems
Some fruits and vegetables can grow properly if they are exposed to the right amount of temperature and humidity. Once again, you have to figure out what these temperatures are by researching and you should have a thermometer to find out if the plants are growing in an ideal environment. Certain plants may not survive for long if you are trying to grow them in the wrong location or during the wrong season.
4. Disease Problems
Some bugs and other pests can carry diseases that can affect plants. If you let the pests do as they please, your plants will eventually die off so you will have to use some insecticides or pick them off by hand if possible.
5. Chemical Problems
Relying on insecticides too much can be harmful for certain plants, so make sure that the insecticidal soaps are really friendly to plants. To prevent chemical problems from spreading, you can safely remove any damaged leaves and wash the rest of the leaves so your plant is healthy again.
6. Nutrition Problems
Keeping a plant alive isn't just about watering and getting the right amount of sunlight. Plants grow on the soil because they gain all of the vital nutrients from the soil. The soil does not have an infinite amount of nutrients which is why you have to replace the soil every now and then.
7. Fertilizer Problems
There are lots of fertilizers sold in the market and it can be difficult to tell which ones really work. Experimenting on some unknown brand may cause your plants to unexpectedly die. To avoid this, you should use a trusted product like Super Grow Fertilizer which you can find at http://www.springrive
