Here are some ways to do away with that ugly ole’ pimple safely and fast:
1. Ease up the inflammation and minimize the redness by applying a small amount of toothpaste over the blemish before going to bed. You can also abate the swelling and redness by pressing lightly a wet tea bag or a cotton ball dabbed with lemon juice over the spot.
2. As much as possible, abstain from using oil-based makeup as they usually bring about pore buildup which causes pimple. Wash off your makeup nightly using an acne-fighting cleanser to take off grime, oil and makeup from deep under the skin.
3. Use a benzyl peroxide or salicylic acid cream to the spot or all over the face. However, do remember that, if used excessively, these components may dry your skin. These are not recommended to be used on sensitive skin.
4. When you are in a hurry, simply apply a flesh-tinted concealer over the pimple to hide it as well as conceal its greasy shine.
5. Wash your face at least twice daily using a gentle, neutral soap or an expert acne cleanser with no tough ingredient. Exfoliate your skin using a pad or washcloth but not wipe firmly as that would drain your skin’s natural oils, which aids in fending off another buildup.
6. Cool down the pimple by holding an ice pack over it for about two minutes. Doing this every 30 minutes will help minimize the inflammation and redness as well as lessen the pain that often goes with it.
7. Never tweak, press or crack the pimple. This will only make the pimple redder, and will also disperse, to other parts of your face, the microorganisms and oil that breed it. This can also leave scars on your face.
