Looking around your prospective office space, there are many small efforts that could positively impact your company's success. The environment that you create for your business will be especially important for the impressions that it forms in the minds of customers. Give your business every advantage. Try these seven ways to create an environment that will inspire customers to trust your brand and help you establish a strong position in the market. 1. Choose a uniform theme for all common areas This includes the choice of wall paint, lighting, and flooring, to name a few. You want to put the most investment of decorating dollars into configuring the main reception area, the restrooms, and any meeting rooms and walkways where customers might be. 2. Ensure there is enough seating for every purpose This includes the ways that you can arrange and rearrange employee workstations and create space for larger meetings, which customers often participate in. 3. Avoid the tendency to overpopulate Think about how much would be too much in terms of wall-hangings and knickknacks. Create a sense of openness and hospitality in every room, but avoid clutter. People should feel comfortable but not overwhelmed. 4. Get employees to suggest ways to improve the lobby rnYou could be spending a small budget to refinish existing office suites rather than starting from scratch. Consider help from experts like those at Affordable Business Interiors. 5. Choose a space that will include lots of natural lighting Employees may be used to artificial lighting, even in their own homes, but daylight makes everyone more productive. 6. Change some decorations in reception areas to match the season rnYou don't want that spring or summer feeling in every room in the middle of winter. Using select seasonal decorations keeps the business environment vibrant throughout the year. 7. Allow employees to customize their individual spaces This doesn't meant that they are putting holes in the walls, but they should have the freedom to get cozy. The more that your workers nest in their surroundings, the sooner they can get into their most productive work mode upon entering the building. While some people find it hard to be productive at home, they don't necessarily like the environment where they work. Customers and employees are most at ease in an environment that is well-appointed but not overdone. Make your business spaces feel like they support the company's desired culture. It's your job to foster that culture with appropriate decor or to trust the pros.
