The secret to life and the secret to money is in the love. Yes, its all about the love! When you can begin to have a romance with money and think of it as your long lost love come home again to steal your heart, you will be well on your way to having and keeping a lot more of it. And, with this new shift in perception, you will find yourself responding to money in a much softer way and treating it very differently. Just as in any romantic liaison, there are certain traits, attitudes, behaviors that scare people away. Well, these very same things scare money away too. As you read this article, just notice if you can relate to any of the following. 1. Living in physical or mental clutter. I dated a fellow years ago who was very handsome and incredibly charming. After some time going out together, he invited me back to his place. I couldn’t believe my eyes when he opened the door and I walked inside. Total chaos, clutter everywhere, dead plants, piles of boxes and unread newspapers. In short, it was a disaster area. I felt so uncomfortable I had to LEAVE, with the emphasis on the word leave. If you want your money to show up and stay, clear the clutter out of your life, first in your physical space and then in your mind. (More on that in a later article.) 2. Being stingy with your money. Money comes to those who are generous in spirit. If you feel like you just don’t have enough money to give away or share with others, then the Universe will agree with you and you won’t. Argue for your limitations and they are yours. 3. Harboring angry feelings. Anger that has not been released in a positive way, can single-handedly destroy your relationship to money. It robs you of your inherent gifts and steals the joy from your heart. And in the process it steals all of your money. 4. Resenting other’s successes. Resentment closes your heart and your mind to opportunities that are all around you. When you are feeling resentful, you cannot see what is staring your right in the face, all kinds of opportunities to increase your cash flow. If you want to keep money flowing into your life, give up your resentments and start being happy for other peoples successes, knowing that it is getting closer to you. 5. Not keeping your word. If you would just commit to doing one thing this year, then choosing to keep your word, would have the most impact upon your life. Keep your word and keep your money! 6. Not taking responsibility for your money. If you were to give a small child a very expensive toy and they abused it, you would not likely give them another one any time soon, until you were certain they could handle it and treat it better. Money is the same way. It comes to people who will handle it responsibly. 7. Taking money for granted. Do you like being taken for granted? Or does it make you feel warm and welcome when someone is really happy to see you and shows it. Does it make you feel cherished when they tell you how much they love and appreciate you. Muck like when you’ve been away all day and your dog runs to meet you at the door, unable to contain their joy at your arrival. Money is no different. Appreciate all the money you have and more of it will beat a path to your door.
