My boyfriend went to the dentist yesterday. The one thing amiss? He doesn’t floss enough. Got me thinking – what are all the things you SHOULD be doing for your health, but aren’t? 1.) Flossing daily -- for your heart health. 2.) Sleeping 7+ hours a night (So many pros to sleeping enough – like weight loss, for one.) 3.) Getting 30 minutes of exercise -- every day 4.) Avoiding saturated fats 5.) Eating Omega 3-rich foods (Nuts and salmon are good sources.) 6.) Eating only organic for – “The Dirty Dozen” -- foods like strawberries, where the fruit or vegetable’s skin is so thin that pesticides are used in abundance in the conventional variety 7.) Spending time with friends What’s on your health wish list? And if it’s been there for years, and nothing has changed – it might be time to reassess. For me, cutting out sugar has been a nagging resolution – but one I haven’t fully committed to. Which makes me think, maybe my real ambition is to cut back on sugar – to be conscious of my sugar intake – recognizing that I LOVE frozen yoghurt, that strawberry rhubarb pie is the most amazing thing in the world, that homemade oatmeal cookies are my fav – and that cutting down on sugar – to the point where I have one sweet a day or every two days – is pretty damn good! How about you?
