8 Things You Should Definitely Avoid Like The Plague

A Quick Preamble: Living a naturally healthy life and sustaining your natural health and wellness throughout a long life, is not just about what you do and what you consume, it’s also about what you must NOT do and what you must NEVER consume. Our modern era has very quickly seen a huge rise in the manufacture and distribution of heavily refined, over-processed and genetically-modified foods that now fill the biggest part of the dietary habits of most of the worlds populations…and boy-o-boy, has Big-Pharma and Big-Food made it difficult to kick that habit, or what..? Cutting to The Chase: The amount of “poisons” on our supermarket shelves today just never ceases to amaze me…even in these enlightened times with more and more scientific and medical research proving beyond any doubt that what we’ve been “force-fed” by the media, the big food corporations and so-called science since the 1960’s, you and your loved ones are still being pushed to take serious risks with your health… …while at the same time you’ve been “persuaded” to stop consuming what we all consumed up to that point – because apparently it was all “Unhealthy”…WRONG..!! Most of the foods and beverages currently on your supermarket shelves – and you can bet your life, in your kitchen cupboards at home – are simply not what you should be consuming…here are 8 of what i and a lot of others, including many from the medical community, consider to be the most poisonous of the lot: #1 – SUGAR There’s a very good reason i put this at the top of my list – it is poison…simple..! Remember this: Fat doesn’t make you fat – sugar does..! This is a complete topic on it’s own and i’ve actually written another full article about it. In a nutshell, in all it’s glorious modern day, heavily refined and bleached forms and colours and types, it’s practically everywhere, in just about every pre-packaged food and beverage product that’s in your supermarkets right now – and if it isn’t, then some form of “chemically-manufactured” sweetener is… #2 – SMOKING Another constant source of amazement to me…in this day and age, with all the medical and scientific information we now have at hand regarding this highly dangerous and health devastating habit, people are still doing it…UN-freakin-BELIEVABLE..!! As an ex-smoker who’s learned lessons the hard way, i’m quite passionate about this (us ex-smokers are the the worst, right..!?!) and i’ve written fairly extensively about it over several articles. If you don’t want to live long and if you want to spend your last few years – of a shortened life, dying slowly and painfully, if you really want to keep up the rank breath and poisoning the air so that your nearest-and-dearest become “passive smokers”, then keep it up…if you want a long, happy and comfortable life…STOPno excuses, it is that simple..! #3 – EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL Hey, we’re all human (oops, did that sound just a tad defensive..?)…we all like a drink – i certainly do…the honest truth is i love a good cold beer and i adore Jack Daniels… …and as i say quite often…a little bit of what you like now and then, won’t hurt you. In fact it’s a known fact that alcohol in moderation, can actually be beneficial to your health…BUT…everyday drinking in large quantities and out-and-out binge-drinking is NOT in any way or form, good for you…so MODERATION IS KEY..! Constant heavy drinking is destructive to your mind and body – BE AWARE AND JUST DON’T DO IT..!! #4 – EXCESSIVE CAFFEINE Again, i’ll point out that a little bit of what you like will never hurt you…and i love my coffee – it’s even been proved to be good for you at certain times...oh, and i've also written another full article regarding the “good” in coffee... …but, too much of a stimulant like caffeine can (and usually does) upset your sleep routine…good quality sleep is critical for bodily and mental rejuvenation. Have your cup or two (or three. like me…!) of Joe in the morning by all means but as soon as you start drinking it to excess, especially later in the day, you’re going to start down the slippery-slope of addiction and all the attendant woes that go with it…have a care and control your craving..! #5 – POISONOUS CHEMICALS Try to use alternative “natural” cleaners and remedies…there really are some great natural alternatives around if you just care to take the time and look. There’s an amazing array of toxic substances in our household cleaners and even in our personal grooming products, let alone those that are in our food products…you need to be aware and try the alternatives. At the very least, if you’re going to stick to your regular household cleaners etc. then ensure you protect yourself from the harmful toxins and poisonous elements that they contain – wear gloves, use proper ventilation etc. #6 – WHEAT & FLOUR Although popular theory holds that wheat hasn’t been around long enough for our slowly evolved human body to have adapted to cope with its’ absorption as a food, it has still been around and consumed by us for a very long time…yet the many associated diseases and illnesses blamed on wheat and its’ products are actually only very recent developments..! So, it therefore makes perfect sense that the massive changes in wheat production caused massive changes in the health-sustaining nutrient properties of wheat. Again, i’ve actually written a full article just recently, about this very subject and you'll be suitably horrified when you read it. In essence…the wheat and the wheat based food products of our fast-paced, population exploding, modern world is genetically and biologically totally different from the wheat we previously consumed for thousands of years..! #7 – FRANKENOILS Come on, you’ve heard about Frankenstein right..? Well, “Frankenfoods”, food monsters, are around us in abundance…wheat and sugar being just two of those…but the most insidious and most widespread “Frankenfood” are the “Frankenoils” – the vegetable oils used in foods and for cooking that took the place of all the healthy fats and oils we once used, because we were told that these new oils were healthier than what we were consuming up until then… …nothing could have been further from the truth – we were hoodwinked again…! These “vegetable” oils are nowhere near related to any health-strengthening vegetable that exists on our planet – they are simply over-processed products of GMO plants – and some of them are not even classified as food but are in fact classified as “industrial”..?!? By now, i'm sure you WON'T be surprised to know i've written a complete article about this too...when you get the chance, read it and weep…it’s scary how so many people are ignorant of the health risks they are undertaking when using using these oils everyday for cooking. Oh, and by the way, i definitely include any and all forms of “margarine” in this category of poisonous foods that you should most definitely not be consuming…margarine is after all, just a solidified vegetable oil – a plastic oil at that…! #8 – ALL-NIGHTERS Oh Yeah…I remember these – in fact i tried that again just recently and i was basically screwed for a week…serve myself right…man i’m getting old..!!! As youngsters we absorb the physical punishment of too-much alcohol and lack of sleep pretty well – up to a point…but then it inevitably gets to a point as we get older, where we either have to calm down or suffer the serious consequences that are inherent with this type of lifestyle. Sleep is NOT a luxury, it’s an absolute necessity required for a sound body and mind – you NEVER get back the sleep you loose and if you lose too much, you WILL shorten your life-span…simple..! Suffice to say, if you want to prolong your life, and remain ‘naturally’ healthy and well throughout, then make regular, top quality rest, a priority. A Final Anecdote: Yep i know, it isn’t always easy avoiding all the dangers that life puts in your way – almost every damned day…but you don’t have to live like a hermit or a monk – or nun, you just need to take care, as much as you can, whenever and wherever you can.
