Studies have linked high levels of stress to any number of health problems, ranging from acne to heart failure. Unfortunately we all experience stress sometimes. It is an unavoidable part of modern life. While you may not be able to avoid stress, you can counteract the negative effects it has on your body. Acupuncture is an ancient answer to this modern problem.
Stress affects everyone differently, but for just about everyone it affects the whole body. Traditional Chinese Medicine does not separate the physical and emotional aspects of the body as sharply as Western Medicine does. Rather it looks at the emotions and physical state of the body as a continuous line.
Because the emotional state and the physical state of your body are connected, it is not surprising that when you are emotionally stressed you physically “feel it”. This is because emotional tension manifests it’s self in the physical body by causing tightness in the shoulders and neck, shallow breathing, elevated blood pressure and heart rate, and generalized muscle tension.
Acupuncture utilizes the philosophy of the body and mind being an indivisible whole, to affect your emotional state by helping your body relax and restoring the normal smooth flow of Qi though out your body.
Acupuncture also aids in stress reduction by balancing your body. One of the most important differences betwee
Western and Eastern Medicines is that with Traditional Chinese Medicine we also help you restore balance to your body and to make you stronger. After all, if you are feeling strong and secure emotionally and your body feels comfortable with good reserves of energy, the same stressful situations of daily life do not seem nearly as daunting. n This is the ultimate goal of any wellness treatment, not only to get you through a difficult period, but to improve Your Quality of Life. n
