In a perfect world, we could get all the nutrients that our body requires in the food that we eat. In reality, being the busy people we are today, with fast foods and readily prepared meals that are available, in most cases, we are NOT getting the nutrients to maintain a healthy body. Instead, they are comprised of over-processed foods that don’t contain sufficient natural nutrients, or they are high in sugars and fats, resulting in weight gain, contributing very little nutritional value.
Many people wonder about health benefits to taking nutritional supplements. The answer is a resounding YES!
Research has found that, if we do not change the way we eat, taking supplements is becoming more of a necessity, rather than an option. To maintain good health, a healthy immune system and metabolism, certain nutrients are required to deal with the free radicals and toxins.
Healthy cell regeneration is necessary to:
-fight off illnessn -premature aging of the body, skin and hairn -and maintain muscle and energy levels.
In the past, taking a daily multi-vitamin was more than sufficient. Now, with new diseases and viruses constantly appearing puts more demand on our immune system, organs, muscles and nervous system, nutritional supplements can:
-fill the dietary gaps of the modern lifestylen -help boost our immune systemn -gets rid of toxins that are taken in every dayn -help you have the best health you deserven -minimize the risk of diseases
There are many weight control and metabolism boosting herbal remedies or nutritional supplements on the market today that contain natural anti-oxidants, such as green tea or oolong tea extracts, acai berries, soy protein or other natural ingredients.
There are now different hybrids that are raised more for pest and disease resistance in the fields, or maximum yield than for their normal nutrients. These chemically or biologically altered fruits and vegetables may actually put more stress on the immune system than benefit it.
For this reason, many people have also tried switching to organic meat, vegetables and fruit, but many times they are too expensive or not readily stocked in the grocery store. Some of the food products actually seem semi-plastic in comparison to fresh, garden raised produce. For example, tomatoes from your garden that are sun-ripened have more flavor and nutrition than some of the tomatoes in your grocer that are picked green and ripen without the sun.
The same is true of other food products that you may think have nutritional value necessary to avoid taking daily multi-vitamins or nutritional supplements. While you may be eating a healthy, well-balanced diet, you may still be lacking the nutrition that your body takes to fight off disease and premature aging from free radicals, toxins and pollution.
Today’s life is more stressful in a different way than in older times. While the cavemen and our ancestors may have had periods of stress from hunting, famine and weather conditions, today’s stresses are not ones that the body is evolved to.
Stresses of bills, work, marital difficulties, college tuitions, and health insurance are not things that they had to worry about. While we don’t have to worry about hunting down our food from anywhere but the grocery store, we still have to worry about paying for it.
Today’s emotional stresses can put more demand on the body’s systems. To maintain nutritional balance and keep the immune system functioning, a nutritional supplement is necessary to give you the nutrients and energy you need.
We must remember the word supplement. It is not the total answer to being at your best health. Your best health requires good food, exercise, work, play, and a health supplement.
