Expecting a new baby can be one of the happiest times in a young woman’s life. However, happiness in this situation can come intertwined with insomnia during pregnancy regardless. Physical pains and discomfort can result from the woman’s stomach growing to make room for the new baby. Can you be sure that this will happen to you though?

An estimated 77% of all women will develop this condition somewhere throughout their pregnancy. In fact, almost all of them will towards the end or their last trimester. In this case it’s more likely that you will than you won’t, but aside from the common insomnia during pregnancy there’s a 30% chance that new snoring habits will lead to sleep apnea. Now, let’s take a look at what may be responsible for causing this.

Rather than the obvious growing pains on the stomach, what could it be? Finding a comfortable sleeping position is rather difficult with a large tummy and a swollen uterus puts pressure on the body and organs. The pressure usually results in frequent urination, nausea, cramps, and heartburn. Aside from this, anxiety about having a new child could play a key role in the problem along with fetal movement. However, there are things that you can do to help relieve all the symptoms.

Here’s the part you’ve been waiting for, tips on relieving insomnia during pregnancy. Add comfortable pillows and blankets to your bed while considering purchasing specially designed pregnancy body pillows. Reduce the amount of fluids you intake later in the day by drinking more throughout the morning. Some more easy steps to try include taking a warm bath or drinking a warm glass of milk before you go to bed. As for finding a comfortable sleeping position, your best bet is to stay on your side and off your back as that adds to the pressure on the body.

One last thing to mention is that eating bland crackers has been known to help alleviate nausea. The thing to remember is that everyone is different and everybody is unique. What works for you might not work for someone else. If these tips simply aren’t working for you, you may want to consult a doctor for insomnia during pregnancy relief. Also, never take any pills without consulting a doctor first as these may be harmful to the baby. Medications usually come with risks but there are some safe supplements he or she can recommend.
