If you are thinking about incorporating a business in the UK, then you need to know about the business structures and stipulations that a company has to follow in order to get registered. The Companies House is the most important of entities when it comes to business incorporation in the UK. nnGetting a Companies House registration is the most important step in forming your company. Companies House is an Executive Agency of the UK Government’s Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. UK law states that all companies formed in the UK should be registered with the Companies House as detailed in the Companies House Act of 1985. nnThere are many things to consider when you want to get a Companies House Registration. First, you need to consider the structure of your business. Do you want your business to be a sole proprietorship, a partnership, a private limited company or a public limited company? This decision plays a vital role in the success of your business venture.nnAfter that, it is time to get to work. You need to choose an appropriate name for your company. For this, you will first need to check the availability of your chosen name. This can be verified by going through the list of company names available at the website of the Companies House. nnAfter this, it is time to get ready to fill in application forms. Companies House Registration will cost you a small fee. This fee increases if you want to get your company incorporated on a priority basis. nnAside from the application fee, Companies House requires applicants to present a number of documents in order to file for your registration. nnThese documents are: n1. Memorandum of Association – this document lists details such as the company name, registered office address (in the United Kingdom), and the company’s objectives. When delivered to the Companies House, it must be signed by the applicants in front of a witness who must attest the signature. n2. Articles of Association – this document details the rules and regulation of the company. Just like the Memorandum of Association, it must also be signed by the applicant/s in front of a witness who must attest their signature/s. n3. FORM 10 – Form 10 is a document that details the company’s directors, secretary and the intended address of the office. Aside from this information, each listed company officer must give details such as their date of birth, occupation and details of any previous directorships they have had during the last five years. Each officer listed in the document and each subscriber must sign and date the form. n4. FORM 12 – this document is a statutory declaration of compliance with all the requirements that are related to the company formation. It should be signed by a solicitor or by any officer listed in the form 10. It must be signed in the presence of a commissioner for oaths, a notary public or a justice for the peace of a solicitor. nOnce an applicant completes all these requirements, then they can successfully complete the Companies House registration process.nnKeep in mind that getting a Companies House registration is not too difficult but it needs hard work and commitment. If you think that you cannot handle the intricate process yourself, then it is a good idea to hire a professional to help you with your Companies House registration. n
