Six years ago I began writing my first book and faced the daunting challenge of determining the title. My friends and former employees insisted that I put into print the “little things” I preached to them for increasing sales and retaining clients. Since I didn’t think “Little Things” was for me, I began scanning motivating quotes and got hung up on Coach Vince Lombardi.

Lombardi is one of the most quoted people in the world, especially in sports. He coached the Green Bay Packers when they won the first and second Super Bowls. He is a champion! The Super Bowl trophy is named for him. One of his quotes talks about winning and how it should be a “habit”. He also warned that losing can become a habit too.
25 Winning Habits became my title. If you want to win, develop winning steps and turn them into habits.

Recently, I met with Ray Delia and I was taken by his passion. Ray is the President and GM of The Bossier Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team. Yes, we do have hockey here in the South. Ray shared lots of powerful sales and motivation ideas and then sent me an inspiring quote.

Consider your habits as you read.

I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest asset or heaviest burden.
I will push you up to success or down to disappointment.
I am at your command.
Half the things you do might just as well be turned over to me, nfor I can do them quickly, correctly, and profitably.
I am easily managed, just be firm with me.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with the precision of a nmachine and the intelligence of a person.
You can run me for profit, or you can run me for ruin.
Show me how you want it done. Educate me. Train me.
Lead me. Reward me.
And I will then…do it automatically.
I am your servant.
Who am I?
I am a habit.
