How do you fight fatigue? Do you constantly find yourself tired and uninspired to do anything but sit and watch TV or go to bed early? Do you wish you had more energy to do things you want to do instead? I am going to show you two ways to get yourself out of that awful state and enjoy every single minute of the day.
Win the battle with superfoods.
Superfoods are exactly just that. Foods that are better for you by providing your body with more vitamins and antioxidants than other foods. The American Dietetic Association recommends eating enough amounts of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat dairy products and lean meats. And don’t go overboard eating foods that are high in fat, high in sugar or high salt foods. Iron enriched foods will specifically help fight off anemia-related fatigue by pumping oxygen rich blood to vital organs. Some popular superfoods that contain a lot of iron are beets, spinach and quinoa.
Beets can replenish iron lost in the blood during the menstrual cycle for women. They can be steamed, boiled and baked or shredded raw and added to salads. Beets are also the main ingredient in a lot of juicing recipes.
Spinach is also one of the lowest calorie foods. It can be served steamed, sautéed or added fresh to a salad.
Quinoa is a great substitute for rice. Half a cup of quinoa contains more than 7 mg of iron. Cook about two cups of water per one cup of quinoa and it will yield three cups.
Win the battle by exercising.
It does not matter how your health is or how good of shape you are in – you should exercise. Exercising will release endorphins that scientists have dubbed natural pain killers. It may seem counterproductive to fight fatigue while feeling tired, but pumping oxygen thru your body will leave you with more energy. Two types of exercises are aerobic training and weight lifting.
Aerobic training is any cardiovascular training. Walking, swimming, biking are simple forms of exercise that will help you fight fatigue. If you are able to engage in cardiovascular training for at least 30 minutes at a moderate to high interval your body will release endorphins. Running alone or on a treadmill machine are great ways to keep your heart racing.
Weight lifting is primarily done to build and tone muscles and also loose weight by increasing your metabolism. A workout need only consist of five exercises taking no longer than 45 minutes. It is important to let your muscles rest at least 48 hours before reworking them again.
If you want to fight fatigue, then make sure you are eating the right foods and exercising at least three to five days a week for thirty minutes. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or CFS is serious disease and special attention should be given to it. If you experience dizziness long after taking part in physical exercising then you might have fibromyalgia and should see a doctor.
