Today we are bombarded with ads about all kinds of foods that are beneficial and that its a good idea to take a supplement if you do not take in the required daily allowance of nutrition via foods. Arm yourself with information! I say you decide what is right for you by educating yourself on your options. A great way to do this is to subscribe to health newsletters or magazines that focus on health. Some of the magazines I subcribe to are Self, Shape, Natural Health, Health and the list goes on. They all have fun articles and tips to follow. I wanted to share with you in this article the benefits of herbs. There are 4 main reasons that you should include them in your daily intake; 1. Cleansing properties - they help your body rid itself of harmful toxins by helping the glands of your body function better. 2. Vitamins & Minerals are found in many herbs and herbal supplements 3. They help raise the energy level of the body and finally - drum roll please - 4. Stimulates the immune system. Wow! Look at all the benefits of taking in more herbs. With that said if you incorporate herbs into your daily diet you will increase your metabolism because you are feeding your the cells of your body with nutrients to help them and the glands of your body function better. This in turn will aid your elimination process to be more efficient and productive so that your on a regular schedule. That will make you FEEL better which effects the mental aspect of your body and that will actually keep you healthier so that you do not come down with any illness. Its really a domino effect. There are herbs that can curb appetite while raising your bodies calorie burning abilities and those include; citrus aurantium, green tea and di-phenylalanine. For help with craving issues; gymnema sylvestre or chromium polynicotinate and garcinia cambogia extract. Another helpful one for dieting would be to take in extra fiber via supplementation. Fiber is a great source for helping you feel full and helps your body maintain healthy insulin levels. If you would rather eat more fiber than take in a supplement here is a tip: one of my favorite fiber rich foods is the Kashi Chocolate Granola that I add into my yogert!
