In a world where food preparation and cooking has become more of a chore than a joy, we have reverted to fast food to help with our hectic and busy lifestyles. We have families who work long hours and have no time to prepare food for ourselves and our children. It feels like long gone are the days of healthy food choices and healthy eating for our families that we need advice nowadays about healthy eating tips and food advice that will get up back on track.

We have succumb to the fast life where we don't prepare food for our families, our lifestyles consist of buying take out, eating convenient microwave dinners and our kids are buying food from the school mess hall with no thought as to the preparation or nutrition of those foods we are being served or spending our hard earned cash on. These foods in question are refined, processed, genetically modified and enhanced.

Do they taste good? Yes, they taste great and why would that raise alarm bells, what tastes good must be good right? Let's ask ourselves a question, does convenience balance out with health? The answer is a simple, no! The longer it takes us to prepare food, the better it is for us, why is that? It is because any food that takes a while is obviously unprocessed and the processing of this food is left in our own hands. Therefore we don't need to do bulk processing which will refine, process and rid good foods of healthy nutrients. Let's take making bread for example, we need to mill the grain, re-mill for refining it, then use it with our yeast and knead the bread, let it proof and then let it rise. Only then can we actually bake the bread, let it cool and slice into it. Yes it takes a while and let me tell you, besides being very gratifying, it is the healthiest thing you can possibly eat. This is only one example where preperation takes time, but the health benefit and cost far exceeds the convenience. It is great and a good way to get your health and that of your families’ health back on track.

By preparing our own foods, we can make sure we have the right amount of nutrition and fibre to support our lifestyle that will be beneficial to our health, our weight and our digestion. Yes it takes time to prepare healthy balanced food, but the benefits are enormous. Besides from being a great family activity you will save vast amounts of money in the long run. Savings will be in the form of your grocery bill being less than half of buying at the store and eating out, also the saving will be huge in terms of your health and the savings in doctors bills over your lifetime.

Good healthy food and eating tips would be making your own bread, if not by buying your own flour, it would be to buy whole grains such as hard red wheat from Montana and milling it yourself. The benefit is that grain will last years and you can mill only what you need. Start a vegetable garden in your back yard and start harvesting natural, healthy and fresh vegetables from your own garden daily in the form of vegetables such as beans, corn, carrots, lettuce, cabbage, spinage and onions. Plant a few fruit trees around your property, such as orange, nlemon, lime and avocado trees, depending on your climate of course.

The benefits and savings are huge when living a healthy natural lifestyle, preparing food for a healthy family and conforming to healthy eating habits.
