Hold On... Help is On the Way!!!

Some of you know that I was a non-commissioned nofficer in the United States Navy assigned to nan Aircraft Carrier where I served in the Aviation nDepartment. nnThis allowed me to work on the dangerous and nfascinating flight deck (aircraft runway). nFor those of you that remember the movie Top Gun nstaring Tom Cruise, part of the movie was filmed naboard our ship.nnI want to share with you an event that occurred none day on our ship. As I stated before the nflight deck is a very hazardous place to work. nnThere are jet aircrafts and equipment moving around nyou constantly.And we were taught to watch out fornturning jet aircraft,this means the aircraft engines nare on.nnThere are two very bad things that can take place nwhen you get too close to a turning jet aircraft. nnNumber one you could be sucked into the jet engine nintake and become possible hamburger meat or number ntwo you could be blown off of the flight deck into the nocean by the jet exhaust. nnGetting knocked overboard can be just as fatal as ngetting swallowed up by a jet engine. When you consider nthat falling from the flight deck to the ocean is the nequivalent of falling from a multi leveled building.nnThe story I want to share with you is about a friend nwho was blown overboard into the ocean. We were nconducting flight operation in the Indian Ocean when nincident happened. nnOne of the ships duty watches saw my friend get blown noverboard, but this was unbeknownst to my buddy at nthat point.nnMy friend assumed that no one knew he was in the water. nThe man overboard alarm was sounded and everyone on thenship approximately 6,000 men went into action.nnIn the meantime my friend inflated his lifejacket and nwatched as the ship started to disappear out of sight.nnHe told me it was one of the most freighting experiencesnhe ever had. As he watched the ship almost two football nfields long, get smaller and smaller.nnHe did not know it at the time but the emergency nhelicopter with two rescue divers were preparing ntake off. Help was on the way. But in his mind it was nall over for him.nnThe divers did there jobs and rescued our shipmate.nThe point I want to stress to you is it doesn’t matter nhow desperate your situation looks now, don't give upnhelp is on the way!nnJust keep treading water until your help arrives.nnYou Are Just A Step Away!nnJohnny Morneynn========================================================nNone of us has gotten where we are solely by pulling nourselves up from our own bootstraps.
