In Harold Kushner’s book "Living a Life That Matters," the author thoughtfully explores the questions – nn-How can we live a life where we know we are contributing to the well being of the world? nn-How can we really feel like we matter (to ourselves and to others)? nn(I’d say these questions apply especially to women in the Soulful Coaching for Busy Women community (www.soulfulcoach.com) who are working to contribute and make the world a better place!)
Kushner’s answer is beautifully simple: It is not the measure of our bank accounts, job titles, or business status that make our lives “matter”, but rather, it is the quality of our friendships, our relationships with others, our kindness, and how we love. Through our relationships, we make our marks on the world and have the power to change our own lives and the lives of others for the better.
I’ve noticed that we often get so caught up in what we think we need to achieve and bring to the world that we forget that our presence, our gifts, and our skills matter greatly in our homes, in our families, and in our communities. Those of us that yearn to bring healing and change to the world are probably already doing that on a daily basis – through supporting a friend, through a helpful suggestion to a colleague, through smiling at a stranger on the street, through a short article we’ve written.
You matter to the world, and nearly everything you do on a daily basis helps you make your mark and contribute to the world!!!!
My coach’s invitation to you is to notice and acknowledge all the ways that you are already achieving and contributing. This will help you feel more satisfied, accomplished, and ready to tackle your next big goal.
Take Action!
1)Make a list of all the people you have touched in your life, all the people whose lives are happier, healthier, fuller because of you – whether through direct contact or by way of something you’ve done.
2)Make a note of how their lives are different because of you.
3)Take a moment and take in the significance of your life as is, and the mark you’ve already made on the world.

Give Yourself a Great Start To The New Year
Looking ahead to the New Year and how you expect it to unfold, can be tempting to get absorbed in whatever is currently trending, or whatever is “doom-ing and gloom-ing” at the moment. But if, on the contrary, you find you are living someone else’s life via trending, or depressed and distressed by

“Weight-Train” Your Brain
I have a new cell phone. I didn’t want a new cell phone; I was perfectly happy with my 2020 cell phone, but it wasn’t happy with me. Its connector charging port was ailing. Failing, actually, the service tech told me. And besides, it was an old phone, what did I expect? Old? This to a woman who is more than content, read “thrilled,” to wear outdated fashions just because she likes them. And would willingly keep computers way past their supposed “shelf life.” Sigh. OK, fine,
