Eight years ago, I discovered that I was going to be a mom.nnI remember the specific moment that intuitively I knew I had a precious, sacred soul stirring in me. I remember the overwhelming emotions of love, anticipation, excitement and hope. And I remember the strong connection I felt to my grandfather, Daddy, who passed away months earlier.nnIt was my pregnancy, my process of becoming a mother that began my journey of self-discovery. For the first time in my life, I felt a need to ask basic questions - Who am I? What do I want for me and my family? How can I serve? It was in becoming a mom that I began to discover my own voice and purpose.nnEight years ago, pregnant for the first time, Mothers Day took on a new meaning for me. I am not one to normally celebrate Hallmark Holidays. But as I thought about the mother I wanted to be, I only had to look at my mother. My mother is truly the soul of our family - an extended family of relatives and friends who live around the world. To so many people, she represents love, caring, compassion and self-less giving.nnI set my intent to celebrate the gifts that my mother brought to my life, and in turn, give such gifts to my daughters. Honoring our mothers is a sacred process, because in honoring them, we also honor ourselves. Not all moms are perfect - although my mom is close :) - but all moms have given a part of themselves to creation.nnIn celebration of Mother's Day this Sunday, we want to hear your mom-related content all this week. More importantly, we want to hear all your tips, tricks and advice related to motherhood.nnMaybe you have a collection of important, practical advice from Mom gathered over the years that will help other people. Maybe you are a mother yourself and you want to share with other mothers how to keep your sanity in what is quite possibly the world's most difficult job!
