How to Be More Like Steve Irwin

An interviewer once asked Steve Irwin if he drank coffee. Steve responded enthusiastically “NAH MATE – the top of my head would blow off.” He’s right, it probably would. We can learn so much from Steve Irwin – his energy, his passion, his genius, his big giant heart, his crazy spirit, his endless love for his family, his zoo and his wildlife.

I adore everything that is Steve. If he was king of the world it would be a much better place. He was real, he was authentic and he was one in a million. I think the reason he was taken from us so early is because he has been given some job ‘upstairs’ that only someone as awesome as Steve could handle.

I am proud to say Steve was a total loony! A fantastic loony – the kind that since he’s taken on a great role upstairs has left a huge gaping hole where he used to be. He was an amazing entertainer, he made EXCELLENT TV and ‘by crikey’ was he funny! He saved his first crocodile at age nine and he squeezed about 25 lifetimes into his 44 years.

I think we should all be more like Steve by…

1. Doing what we are absolutely crazy passionate about
2. Being a ‘yes’ person – you will always find a solutio

3. Setting huge goals and knowing you WILL reach them
4. Seeing the best in people always
5. Not having any time for judging people or being negative
6. Adoring learning
7. Not being afraid to stand out
8. Being TOTALLY unique
9. Being totally real – not hiding anything
10. Being who we truly are
11. Expressing what we want to express
12. Finding the best people to support our life mission
13. Sharing our genius with the world (he did so via his TV show and appearances)
14. Knowing that life is too short to not have a blast
15. Being hugely committed to educating people about our area of expertise
16. Believing that life is wonderful and that we can attract amazing things to ourselves
17. Seeing the beauty in everything (similar to radiating kindness)
18. Adore and respect everything in our natural world
19. Be a warrior about something you care about
