Do you know that the average person talks to himself or herself about 50,000 times a day. According to psychological researchers, it is 80% negative; most people say things such as I shouldn’t have said that… I’ll never lose this weight… I can’t just lick this problem.. I am always running late, etc

This got me to thinking, have you ever heard the saying ”If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”? Well, I wonder what are you saying to yourself in relation to achieving your goals, getting over adversity, or past a roadblock that’s standing in your way of achieving what you want in life. What you say to yourself when the going gets tough will determine how successful you are at getting past whatever is stopping you from achieving your goals.

Do you say you just can’t get past this obstacle, not this one? Well it’s probably because you think you can’t, what are you telling yourself? You say this problem is just too big, it probably is if you think it is, what are you saying to yourself? You say I messed up real bad and I just can’t come back from this mistake, well you probably can’t if you think you can’t, what are you saying to yourself? You say to yourself, I can’t do this, I can’t be this, I can’t have this, I can’t achieve this, well you probably can’t if you think you can’t, what are you saying to yourself?

You are not the first person who ever faced an obstacle, some hardship, and some adversity in your life. Do you ever say to yourself “what’s the difference between those that overcame their adversity and me?” Let me make this as plain as I can. One difference I can tell you right off the bat is that somehow, someway, the believed that they could overcome their hardships; and if they believed it, they probably told themselves that they could get past their obstacles too.

Begin telling yourself today that you can get past whatever difficulties that may surface in your life. Keep the negative out and let in the positive and the uplifting words and affirmations that will keep you going and motivate you to reach your goals. So when you feel like giving up, say “I can go on, I must go on”. When you feel like it’s just to hard, tell yourself, “I got to get through this, I will get through this”. When you are striving to reach a particular goal and you get knocked down by the punch of life, say to yourself, “it not how many times I get knocked down as long as I keep getting up, and I will get up”. You can make it through, I believe in you, now believe in yourself. Remember that if you can’t say anything nice to yourself, don’t say anything at all. n
