I would be willing to bet that a high percentage of the people who read this article, will do so because the title attracted their attention. Absolutely why not, if I saw a title like that I would be attracted to it too.nnI said in an piece that I wrote very recently, that I am on a mission, so I have decided that the theme of all the articles that I am going to write over the next few weeks will in effect have the theme of " Back To The Basics". Probably you will not find anything in them which is a startling new revelation, quite possibly the opposite. nnI see evidence of a revolution in attitudes to health and wellness taking place in the western world, and "hats off" to many of the government agencies that have been actively promoting this recently, in advertising, health bulletins, press releases, and so on.nnIf I can make even a small contribution to this, by writing something which inspires someone somewhere to sit up and take action, then I will be very happy indeed.nnSo how are we going to lose this 24 pounds without dieting, which is everyone's dream including mine! Simple! "Work It Off, or more specifically, Walk It Off!! Fight the fat, and stride yourself to a new slim you with my guide to losing weight through walking in just four weeks.nnYes, the walking thing again, and I make absolutely no apologies for returning to it. It is not rocket science to figure out that to lose weight you have got to expend more energy and calories than you consume. It follows therefore that to do this, you either need to go on a diet, or exercise, or preferably both. nnIf for whatever reason, you cannot do both, then you must at least do one. I am sure that you will have read many articles on the great weight loss benefits of walking before now, but this time follow my plan. I know for certain that you will get superb results.nnThere is one very important thing that you must must do before you even think about starting however. Get your head round it, otherwise you will surely fail miserably, and we don't want that do we. We are not talking about a casual stroll after dinner here, we are talking serious self disciplined action for at least four monthsnnWalking is one of the easiest ways to lose weight. A brisk walking session for 45 minutes four times a week could help you to lose one and a half pounds a week. That adds up to 24 pounds over a four month period in time.nnApart from the weight loss benefits, walking strengthens the heart and lungs, improves bone density, and boosts your mood by increasing the production of the feel good endorphins in the body. One of the other good things about it, is that it also helps suppress the appetite, so you lose weight that way too. nnIt also helps fight cancer, heart disease, diabetes and strokes. The health benefits are absolutely superb, and you will not believe how fit and well you will start to feel after just a few sessions. You will wonder why you never did this before.nnAccording to experts 10,000 steps a day does the trick. That may sound like a lot, but walking the kids to school, playing with them in the park, and even running up and down the stairs will add up to that magic total in no time. With my eight point plan, you are guaranteed to slim and tone up in just four weeks.nnMy Eight Point Plan For Weight Loss Success Through Walking:-nn1 - Fast short steps will help you reach your daily quota faster, so try and change the way that you walk to reflect this.nn2 - Stride out with your head and shoulders relaxed, and pump your arms to work your heart and burn more calories.nn3 - Walk fast enough to work up a sweat, but not so fast that you haven't enough breath left to hold a conversation.nn4 - Walk on different kinds of surfaces. Uneven surfaces such as woodlands or fields will use different muscles, so you will tone up faster. Also if you walk up and down hills, you will help burn up the flab faster.nn5 - Once you start to feel fitter, use small bottles of water as hand weights while you walk. These will help you burn up to an extra 200 calories per thirty minute session. It will also help to tone your arms, shoulders and back muscles.nn6 - Change one thing a day to make sure that you stick to your walking routine. For instance, park the car three streets away when you pick up the kids from school, or walk up the stairs in the car park with the shopping, instead of taking the lift.nn7 - Buy a pedometer to count the number of steps that you take each day. They are not terribly expensive.nn8 - Walking is every bit as aerobic as running or a conventional gym class, so make sure therefore that you warm up and cool down with some gentle stretches with each session. Take deep breaths to bring down your heart rate, and bend from the waist to ease out your spine.nnHow you can burn up more calories with your walk out!nnWork these simple five minute exercises into your day even when watching TV, and you will burn more calories, and end up with a slender toned body. nnTummy tonernLie on your back with your knees bent, and feet flat on the floor, hip width apart, and with fingers behind your ears. Gently lift your head and chest off the floor, keeping your neck in a straight line, and squeezing your tummy. Hold for 30 seconds and release.nnRepeat 10 times.nnBum squeeze.nLie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip width apart. Slowly lift your bottom off the floor, keeping your tummy muscles contracted, and hips in line. Squeeze your bottom and hold for 30 seconds before releasing.nnRepeat 10 times

Movement is one of the most honest forms of self-connection. The body never lies. It holds stress, records emotion, and reveals when something feels off.
