If you've been to our website, then you've seen our testimonies or the before and after video on the home page (www.ucfitness.biz). So who is my most successful student? Everyone in that video and many more (I don't have their permission to use their image)!

The difference in those students and some of my others is simply taking notes. How many times were you told in school to take good notes? Are you a parent teaching your children to take good notes, so they will make good grades? We all were told to take good notes. If you're in a meeting or at church or a seminar most people take notes in order to remember what they are to learn. Fitness works the same way, except the benefits are tangible!

My students who've seen the best results kept journals that contained their daily food and liquid intake. It also contained their daily workout!

Most people do a poor job of remembering what they eat on a daily basis. Most certainly don't realize how much or how little they are eating as well. Both are not healthy and lead to fat gain! When you write down what you eat you'll also know if your eating in a way to "...Can You Have a Flat Stomach" (previous article).

When you write down your exercise, you'll be able to see if you're working hard enough. Believe it or not most people in a gym don't do enough cardio, nor do they do it at an effective level. Basically if you can hold a conversation while doing cardio, it's not enough! It will also alert you to when you should increase your resistance routine. If you've been using the same weight for the same exercise for more than a month, you are not stressing the muscle enough to cause a metabolic burn.

I know some of you are already making excuses as you why you can't keep a journal. Time or I did it before and it didn't work for me. As far as time goes...Make time for it! You make time to watch TV or talk on the phone or do something else that has little to no benefit to your life. Make time to enhance your life. If you've done this before and claim it didn't work...I suggest you see a doctor to check for any genetic issues, but if there are none, you took notes but didn't use them properly. It's like a student who take notes in class, but never review them (or have a trainer review them) and expect to make a passing grade.

If you want to be SUCCESSFUL, you must take good notes, so you can take responsibility for your health.

Movement is one of the most honest forms of self-connection. The body never lies. It holds stress, records emotion, and reveals when something feels off. For many, this is why exercise has always been more than fitness; it’s therapy through motion. But not all movement heals. Some styles exhaust, others distract. True healing often begins in the slow, intentional kind, the kind that lets the body lead and the mind follow.rnThat’s where precision-based training, such as re
