Obesity is an excessive body fat of a person for a given height and gender.It is associated with increased cell size and number. The intake of the calories must harmonize with the output of work done physically, to burn up the calories. Else the unused calories get stored up in the body as fat.

Symptoms

The size and amount of fat cells in the body are increasing which causes a buildup of excess body fats. It is mostly seen on the waistline. Men with 40 inches of waistline and women with 35 inches or more are prone to getting heart disease and other health problems linked to obesity.

Prepare a drink by adding half teaspoon fresh honey and half teaspoon fresh basil (tulsi) paste in a luke warm water. It is an effective home remedy for obesity control.

In 1 cup of water, add 3 tsp of limejuice, ½ tsp pepper powder and some honey. Drink this everyday for about 3-4 months.

The leaves of jujube or Indian plum are another valuable remedy for obesity. A handful of leaves should be soaked overnight in water and this water should be taken in the morning, preferably on an empty stumach. This treatment should be continued for at least one month to achieve beneficial results.

Chew a thin slice of fresh ginger root a few minutes before meals. Or grate a little ginger, mix with some lemon juice and salt, and eat a pinch or two.

Stop nibbling between meals. Train yourself to get along less food. You will enjoy living on a reduced diet. Instead of eating only 2 more meals during the day like lunch & dinner, try to eat 4-5 more small mini-meals spaced 2-3 hours apart during the day.

Another home remedy for obesity would be mint. A mint chutney(chopped fruit or vegetable with a variety of sweet and spicy seasonings and/or condiments)eaten along with meals is also beneficial to losing weigh

Sieve wheat flour and remove the bran. Mix two tablespoonfuls of this bran in a glass of skimmed milk, add honey and take it at least once a day. Do not add sugar. Bran can also be taken with buttermilk.

One or two ripe tomatoes taken early morning as a substitute for breakfast, for a couple of months, are considered a safe method of weight reduction.This remedy will aid in reducing your weight at a faster rate. They also supply the food elements essential to preserve health.

Make a mixture of 1/4 teaspoon powdered black pepper, 3 teaspoon lime juice, and 1 teaspoon honey in 1 cup water. Drinking this mixture for 3-4 months may be helpful in weight loss for obese and overweight people.
