Ok, this maybe out of the box thinking, but at least consider it. Using paper towels in the bathroom helps save on laundry, and reduces germ transference. My Mom sometimes leaves out those nicely decorated hand paper towels in the guest bathroom during holidays. They are so pretty you almost don’t want to use them. This triggered some questions about creating a more organic space in my own bathroom!nnCloth hand towels are such an accumulator of germs because of the moisture that they hold after they have been used. This is a place where bacteria are known to lurk so leaving them out for the next family member or guest is just...........gross.nnThe big debate of course is about the use of paper and the waste of all those trees, the other evil to that is the use of all the hot water when laundering hand towels, especially if you change them frequently. You can also purchase recycled paper towels in almost every store these days.nnThe decision has to fit your needs, space and time, but you can consider the option of mounting a nice paper towel holder in a easily reachable place in your bathrooms. The kids will love it, your guests will like it and I am sure you will appreciate less laundry.n nIf you want to go the extra mile, throw the used paper towels in the recycling ben with the news paper.nnExtra tip for your space:nIn a decorative dish somewhere in your bathroom or hidden, place a piece of charcoal, the same kind you use for your barbecue. It will absorb most of the humidity from the air, so mold and mildew have less of a chance to form. Charcoal will also absorb bathroom smells.nnLiving Organically Well,nRenay Matthewsnwww.organicspaces.blogspot.com
