A state of danger is where something is perceived to be at risk. The state of the world right now has us concerned that what we have come to rely on is at risk. A shift is happening which is both welcomed and feared. How did we get to this place? We’re highly intelligent beings. How did we allow greed, consumerism, and over-spending to spin out of control? Have you ever thought or heard yourself and others say “There just isn’t enough?” or some variation of this? Not enough good friends, not enough jobs, not enough money, not enough good food, not enough sunshine, and many more “not enough’s” that could grow into a very long list. The other side of course is the conversation of “too much.” Too much debt, too much unemployment, too much rain… you get the idea. It is the same conversation just said a different way. This is our collective scarcity consciousness speaking. Consider that this could be the real enemy that has brought the world to its present danger. This conversation is so ingrained that it is like talking in your sleep. It is largely unheard by ourselves and anyone else who happens to be “asleep.” The need to accumulate, hoard, and get ahead has prevailed for a long time. For many this has turned into the more, bigger, better ethos of consumerism and greed. Where did this originate? I am going to assert something that may be radical to some. The source of our scarcity consciousness is the concept, belief or idea of singularity – where we see ourselves as separate and apart from others including God, or whatever term we use to describe the divine. It has become a human mechanism for coping and dealing with life and survival. In this model we clearly believe that if we don’t have what we need someone else does, and if we do have what we need we have to protect it so that someone else doesn’t get it. We put considerable energy and effort into this way of operating. Our experience of life and our actions or avoidance of actions can stem from this unhealthy way of being - that we are separate. For the most part we are trying to hold onto material things that never were ours in the first place. They are just things that have been given to us to take care of for a short while. Do you think that when we are gone we will look back with regret and say “I wish I had a bigger house, a newer car, more money, better clothes?” I somehow doubt that we will. There is nothing wrong with having material things. It is the intensity of focus and value put on them by enough people that has brought the world to the place it is in. In doing so we are operating outside of the flow of abundance. We need to shift our conversation from scarcity to sufficiency. What is it going to take to shift the collective consciousness to one of sufficiency vs. scarcity?
“There is a natural law of abundance which pervades the entire universe, but it will not flow through a doorway of belief in lack and limitation.” — Paul Zaiter
The present danger is a wake-up call. It is time to have a shift in consciousness and become aware of the natural laws that support us in living life powerfully. This begins in examining our beliefs. In the awareness of this comes the possibility of something new, something created rather than decided or adopted. When unity replaces singularity in our consciousness we will experience abundance.
“We arrive at a consciousness of Unity only in such degree as we see that what we are looking FOR, we are looking WITH, and looking AT.” — Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind
What was Ernest Holmes saying? We already have everything we are looking for. We lack nothing at this present moment. What we are seeing is our reality based on our beliefs. Shifting our beliefs will cause us to see things in a way that we’ve never seen them before and our experience of life will alter. Are you ready to starting looking within, to start acknowledging and appreciating your gifts? Gratitude is one of the keys to experiencing sufficiency. Take this on as a practice, start altering your occurring world and occupy the realms of heaven.
