How many times have you moved or thought about moving? One of the toughest things to deal with when you move is finding a new job. When you run a business from your home, you take it with you. You can work in the library while your children check out books or you can work in the gym while your children have sports practice. The beautiful thing about working from home is that your business is mobile and moves with you.

• Who you work with

When you work for someone else you don’t have a choice in whom you work with or who you work for. But, that is one of the best things about running your own business. If you don’t feel comfortable working with someone, then you tell them you can’t work with them or you don’t start working with them in the first place. It’s that easy. You can interview people before you get started so you can get an idea of the type of person they are and see if you fit well with them.

Because it’s your business, you run it the way you want it to go. If you offer a service and you don’t like to do that service, you can either have someone else do it by outsourcing it or you can stop offering that service. When you work for someone else you don’t have that ability.

• What type of work you do

When you work outside the home you may not have a choice in the type of work you do daily. Running your own business gives you that freedom and so much more. Running a business that is full of what you like and enjoy doing is a good way to grow. When you enjoy it, you will want to work your business everyday and you will be positive about it. This will show in your abilities and how you treat customers or clients.

When you are considering a business of your own, you need to look at all your options and you need to make sure it’s something you can do. Running a business is not easy by any means, so you need to look at everything before you jump into it with both feet.
