Sins Of America

I must start out saying that this particular newsletter will be viewed by some as controversial. Some Nations have laws that would require me to be put to death for some of the content in this newsletter. Others would have me imprisoned for speaking out against their government’s laws or against a particular religion. n My intention is neither to offend or speak against the United States of America but to encourage Christians to take a stand for the gospel that has brought them the promise of eternal life. Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. I have served four years in the United States Marine Corp with an honorable discharge. Despite my self serving behavior with the sins of drugs and crime, I have never turned against what America stands for. n What I do intend this Newsletter to do is prod some of you into considering what exactly it is you stand for or should I say how much you will take before you speak out against the sin direction this politically correct or anti-Christian movement is taking the United States. n We as a Nation have become so, “we must be tolerant so we don’t offend anyone”, that we give our approval on just about everything that the Bible speaks against. In case you haven’t figured out where I’m going yet, let me help you (homosexuality, pornography, abortion, encouraging our children to have premarital sex by not preaching abstinence but giving out condemns in schools, removing God from our children's lives and we are in the process of removing God from all public view). The list goes on and on. We, as a nation, have given approval of sin and have punished people that stand up for the truth. Our judges are so spiritually blind that they can’t see the relationship with some of the court decisions they have made and the rapid moral decay of our society.
2 Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
I need to be clear that the sins that I am going to address are just that, sins. There is no one sin that will send a person to Hell quicker than another one. James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. It only takes one sin to send a person to Hell. We all are in need of repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Our country will be judged for the innocent blood it has spilled through the countless number of abortions we have given approval of. God forms us in our mother’s womb. Isaiah 44:24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; n God brings promises throughout His Word that He will repay evil for evil. Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. n We have called evil good by saying that homosexuality is a God given right. Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isaiah 13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
Abortion and homosexuality are a choice the same as rape, murder, stealing or any other sin that goes on in the world. The Bible puts murder and lying in the same category. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. n To say that some people are born prone to commit certain sins and others are not isn’t Biblical. The Bible says that all men are liars, deceitful, wicked and that there are none that do good. Psalms 116:11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Psalms 53:3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
This is the natural state of all men. The natural man can do nothing but sin.
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
In our natural state we are dead in trespasses and sins. Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
In Ephesians 2:1 those of us that have repented and accepted Christ’s payment for our sins have been quickened. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
We have been quickened by the Word of God or made alive unto Christ. Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
The judges and politicians that have sided with the sin promoters are condemned like we once were. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotte
Son of God.
They are unrepentant, unforgiven souls that will be required to pay the penalty for sin in their life and give account for the sin in our society that they have given approval of. They do not have the authority to take God out of society or give approval of sin. By the way, this is not limited to homosexuality and abortion. State sponsored gambling, endless welfare programs and the funding of programs that promote ungodliness in any form is sin. Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
We know better. We know what happens to a nation that turns its back on God. We understand that throughout history no one that has gone against the will of God has prospered. What makes us think that we will succeed? n We prayed to God as a Nation when the twin towers came down and within two years our supreme court hears a case on removing God from the pledge of Allegiance and bans the ten commandments from a court house. When a school shooting takes place people ask why would a loving God allow this to happen? Probably because our supreme court removed God from the school system many years ago and these children have never heard of Him. They don’t know the God of our fathers. We have raised a generation of children that don’t know God and we are setting up our society in a way that will prevent us from telling them about Him. Judges 2:12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. We give freedom of religion to everyone except those that believe in the God of the Bible. It is easy to figure out why. Those other gods don’t convict us of sin. They just lead us to a better relationship with self. One religion calls it oneness with all. n We are teaching our children to follow after other gods, Satan, the god of this world, his filthy lucre, greed and lust. Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Then we act like there is no relationship between the crimes our children commit and the perverted moral standards we set for them. n It has been ruled recently that virtual pedophilia is legal because its not real. The Bible says that when lust is conceived it brings forth sin and when sin is finished it brings forth death. James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Temptations don’t come from God. James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
The god of this world is Satan and he is the father of all that deny Christ in their life. John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
We must speak out against sin. We must be the light Christ wants us to be. Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Christ draws all men unto Himself. John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. Christ reaches out to the lost and dying world through and by His Word. This includes our testimony, obedience to the Word of God, the way we treat others, witnessing etc. The lost also see our approval of sin in our own lives. If we point out sin in others we need to make sure that it’s not in our life. Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Who will the United States pray to the next time we have a major catastrophe or terrorist attack? Will we find our selves praying to a state sponsored god that requires us to strap bombs to ourselves and our children and kill Christians and Jews to appease him. Our God does not require animal or human sacrifices that can never take away sins. He provided Himself a sacrifice once for all. Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifies, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
In the Old Testament, one of the things God allowed was for the Jews to be taken into captivity by an ungodly ruler because they rebelled against Him. He gave them over to a ruthless dictator. If you look back in time, this isn’t necessarily ancient history. Many of the countries that reject Christ today have a ruthless dictator ruling over them. We will serve someone. Either the God of creation or the god of this world. We are either the servants of unrighteousness (sin) or the servants of righteousness (God). Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
The Bible says that all principalities and powers are from God. Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
The purpose for God giving authority to a government is to enforce God’s laws. There is no law outside of God’s. God’s instruction for Christians is very simple. We are to be in submission to the authority over us and live Christ like. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
God says that every knee will bend and every tongue will confess: Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Every judge and elected official that has allowed himself to be used by Satan to promote ungodliness will give account of himself before the Lord God Almighty. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
As children of God, we will be judged based on what we did or didn’t do for the Lord after salvation.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
There is one more point I want to make. As a nation we can never stop supporting Israel, God’s chosen people. Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. n Please continue to pray for the true peace of Jerusalem and for the nation of Israel along with the leaders of the United States of America to make choices as God would have them. At the same time, do your part. Tell someone about the hope that is in you.
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: *******************************************
