The Beauty of Ssese Islands in Uganda

As a tour guide I have come to love never better than what I used to before joining Tourism. In Uganda when you say that you are going for a tour in the national park, many people will see you as an extravagant person. But when you know what is there you will not fail to appreciate what God created. And for that matter I’m now used to visit new places which are in my reach.nnThere are some places in this world which are never given attention at all. Have you ever asked yourself why Uganda is called the pearl of Africa? Among other places of attraction in Uganda, Ssese Islands are taken to be of high quality in Africa more than any place in Uganda. Everything at this place is natural and these people have never had of anything like global warming.nn It will take you around 45 minutes to travel From Kampala city to Ssese Islands in Lake Victoria. These islands are 84 in number and the most developed for tourist vacations are in Uganda side of the lake. Let me not forget to tell you that this lake is shared by Kenya Uganda and Tanzania. nnAs a developing country, Uganda’s tourist attractions are untapped. It is of recent that these islands are looked upon as places of attractions to those going for honeymoons and other holiday vacations.nnAs a matter of fact many tourist hotels are mushrooming at a breakneck speed to cater for many who come at a short notice and those who book in advance. All beaches were given to developers by the current government at a subsidized price. At the time I’ am writing this article. Ssese Island beaches are like Mombasa beaches in Kenya.nnThe natives of these island who claim to be the first people in Uganda according to legends in Ugandan history, are very friendly to any outside .They will welcome any person from any origin and for that matter many people are buying land and turning to be native and citizens of Uganda. And while other parts of Uganda faced coups and counter coups, Ssese islands have never faced any political instability and therefore their culture is still intact. I will not hastate to tell you that “if you want to know the African culture to its fullest”, this is the place to give your next glance.nnAnything concerning food is history in these islands. As the place is situated in the tropics, any tropical fresh food is grown in these islands plus fish from Lake Victoria and to assure you the natives have never faced anything called shortage of food. In fact the towns near these islands get food from these islands.nnThe only item the islanders buy is soap salt and match box and when you ask the native man what he or she lacks, the answer is salt soup and matchbox, other than that .one can live in Ssese Island for the rest of his life.nnThe tranquility that surrounds the island give it the marks for honeymoon and other secretive adventure like canoeing and Kayaking. For those who like wildlife, there is a chimpanzee sanctuary in Ngamba island which is “a must see when you visit these islands and see these creatures that are next to man in terms of intelligence...
