What is the "Collagen Matrix" and what does it have to do with health? Hundreds of thousands of people are fighting the war against cancer, heart disease, and other degenerative diseases. These diseases have already been prevented and stopped by many who have taken the time to educate themselves in the three basic protocols of the human body. The collagen matrix is one of these protocols.

The entire body is made up of trillions of specialized cells and is heldntogether by connective tissue. Collagen is the strong fibrousnprotein that serves as the building block for all connectingntissue. Collagen acts like glue to hold the body together, and it'snproduction depends on an ample supply of ascorbates.
While most animals produce their own ascorbates from the food theyneat, humans, primates, fruit bats and guinea pigs don't.
Without sufficient quantities of usable ascorbates from the food weneat, the collagen matrix becomes stiff and brittle, our skinnwrinkles, backs ache, ligaments pull, recovery rates from vigorousnexercise becomes slow, and the air sacks in our lungs get stiff causingnblood vessels and arteries to crack.

The amino acids lysine and proline are also critical to thenproduction of collagen. A lack of vitami
C (which is common) innthe body means that it cannot make proper use of these amino acidsnwhich prevents the proper formation of collagen cross links. As anresult of these deficiencies the body's blood vessels and arteriesnbegin to develop cracks. When this happens the body can , for antime, manufacture enough lipoproteins from blood plasma ton'patch' the vesicular/arterial cracks. This patching material isncommonly referred to as plaque. If this condition is not correctednby proper nutrition, over time, the plaque thickens which leads tona restriction of blood flow, high blood pressure, and eventuallynheart disease and/or heart attack.

A diet rich in buffered mineral ascorbates (sodium ascorbate, ncalcium ascorbate, and potassium ascorbate) will allow the body tonheal itself from its damaged arteries. Arterial plaque willndisappear because the body no longer needs to 'patch' the cracks.
Many people have reversed high blood pressure and heart diseasenusing ascorbates. It should also be noted that the presence ofnbuffered mineral ascorbates prevent and/or reverses high bloodnsugar commonly known as 'diabetes.'
Diet alone, however, is not enough to get the required amount ofnascorbates the body needs, it usually takes mineral ascorbatensupplements together with a healthy diet to achieve adequatensupplies.

A healthy collagen matrix, therefore, is vital to optimum healthnand ndisease prevention. An ample supply of ascorbates together with thenamino acids lysine and proline are needed for maximised collagennproduction, which can only be achieved through a healthy diet ntogether with the right kind of mineral 'supplements.'
