I was looking over some of my diaries from the last couple of years and I found a common factor. It was littered with “to-do” lists. I read through Monday, Tuesday and so on - each of those days had a really long list of things that I needed to do for the day. I noticed that each completed task had line drawn through it. My question to you is this effective method of working and is it aligned with the Law of Attraction?

Let’s first examine the ‘To-Do’ list. It is essentially a list of all the things that you have not yet done. What is your immediate reaction to such a list? I know that mine is - I really have to do all of that, I will never get that done in a day. This reaction is immediately embedded into your subconscious mind and you have started the day from a place of negativity. Now if you understand the Law of Attraction, if you start the day from a place of negativity then that is the vibration that you are emitting out to the universe and it will be attracted back to you. I know that I don’t want this as my start to the day.

Now let’s do the same for the ‘done’ list. My idea of a ‘done’ list is that you create a list and every time you complete the smallest of tasks that you place it on your list. When you place the task on your list then feel gratitude that you have been able to achieve the task. Now again, if you look at the Law of Attraction, if you start the day displaying gratitude for each and every task that you complete (not matter how large or small) then more reasons to display gratitude will be attracted to you.

Put yourself in this position: You are about to go to bed and you pull out your diary and look at the day’s to-do list. It still has many tasks still to complete and they will need to be carried over until the next day. How will you feel going to bed? What is the imagery and thoughts that will be entering your subconscious mind as you go to sleep? I will tell you - images of you having to work extra hard tomorrow to complete even more tasks and thoughts of inadequacy because you were unable to complete your day’s tasks.

In contrast, you go to bed and pull out your diary and look at your done-list. It shows all of the tasks that you have finished during the day. How will you feel going to bed? What is the imagery and thoughts that will be entering your subconscious mind as you go to sleep? I will tell you - images of you completing tasks and feelings of gratitude and success - these will enter your subconscious mind and will work their magic as you sleep.

I know that a to-do list is the traditional method of recording your tasks but I believe that I have made a real case for you to change to a done list especially if you want the Law of Attraction to work for you.
